I'm a chemistry student and the Noble gas thing never crossed my mind. Now it's all I'm gonna be able to think about XD
LMAO i have the hair he described at the end. can't stop laughing in my hairstack
Come on, Ross! bring on a new UK tour!
The word was changed from 'Aluminum' to 'Aluminium', but America (along with a few over places) never changed their dictionaries to the newer spelling and pronunciation.
Both words are now accepted as correct. It's the same with Sulfur and Sulphur.
Excuse me, can I have a baked potarto please...
...All the time ;)
@jettison27 Seriously, every time I watch one of these clips, I end up wiping tears out of my eyes from all the laughing! This guy is great.
Legend.
XD brilliant as always!!
come back to Montrea!!
the element has two different spellings (and hence two different pronounciations) used in different parts of the world.
Most of the world spell it with the extra I, aluminium.
The US and Canada spell it without the I, aluminum.
both words are officially recognised by official science type people, but that doesnt stop people endlessly arguing about it on the internet
does anyone else want him to do a show in america
he just opens his mouth and the rest is history :D
😁❤️
@Dvdsmith2002 the world is a much brighter place now that has been pointed that out
Richard Herring has a brilliant routine about the "potahto" thing.
come back to perth ross, we've missed you!
Damnit, now I want a baked potato.
Great, now I feel like poteeto.
@SDCParrot got tickets for the york gig front row ^_^
I like the part where Ross says 'potato'
@Sodhats Yes it is bloody funny and also rather clever.
1 dislike my son said they must of been hit by a potato
does anyone else get a strange sense of pleasure when he does that silly contorted voice like at 8:07
is it weird that i really wanna touch Ross's hair!!
The dislikes are people who say "potarto"
Mmm. Potatoes.
I can't believe the audience isn't laughing like a bunch of hyenas, they really should be. Ross's comedy is simply magical.
Really? Huh I was not aware of that. Well shit, thanks for the info I had been wondering about that for a long time.
Gotta say I prefer aluminum but that's probably just because that's how I grew up saying it.
Thanks again for droppin' some knowledge on me.
I was eating petitos before they went mainstream
Crazy Brit here, im from roughly the same place as Ross (Newcastle) and everyone i have ever heard says "aluminium" because that's just the way we pronounce our U's in England, we say it with more of a 'youuu' sound wheras amercans tend to say 'ooohh' for example the word due in american accents sounds like 'do' in english accents sounds more like 'jew'.
Also, the herb thing, i refer to an Eddie Izzard quote: because theres a fucking H in it.
Hope this helps :)
1 person got knocked out by a patito.
Would have found this so much funnier If I hadn't of read the comments beforehand...
@Dvdsmith2002 Oh great thanks and i have chemistry in 2 days as well :D
So It's like Griffon and Gryphon?
Dear Crazy British Folks,
Why, oh why, do y'all -- (you all) -- pronounce Aluminum Aluminium?
Herbs with the hard H I get, and I'm even on board with powtahtoe and towmahtoe, but aluminium??
Any answer from a UK'er or Aussie would be appreciated.
Love,
An Interested North American
well no wonder it doesnt make sense.. its not a topato
Get off Ross he's hilarious.
