‘Nachom-ia Kumpasar’ is a Konkani musical feature film - a tribute to Goan Musicians. It celebrates Goan music in the eyes of erstwhile musicians of 1960s and 70s. It delves into 20 timeless Konkani songs that convey the pitch and rhythm they made their own.
These formidable musicians with their understanding of Western music changed Hindi film music forever. Anthony Gonsalves, Sebastian D'Souza & Frank Fernand were pioneers who introduced fusion orchestral music into Indian compositions.
Other legends collaborated with singers like Mohammed Rafi, Usha Uthup & Mangeshkar sisters. Bollywood music, till date remains heavily influenced by trends set by these musicians.
‘Nachom-ia Kumpasar’ is a nostalgic recreation of few of these Konkani musicians - unrecognized, unappreciated. And unsung.

Issue is that this movie is not released on online platform and no CDs available to buy.... I tried to obtain it but just not available....they don't even reply anyways ever if it reaches me I would love to watch it...
I'm a big fan of lorna's voice. Her voice is unique and that's her gift from God. I haven't watched this movie but from the promo I guess that it is definitely a good movie and I really want to watch it.
Remember people this is a movie and please enjoy it as a movie and do not take to anyone's personal level.

Makes me want to live more. I will remember that finding this raised my spirits after 6months of Covid - 19 .

I have seen this movie in Goa. Excellent and well directed. True story of Lorna I would say. If anybody did not seen this movie please make a effort to see it. Well worth it. please do not listen to negative comments people say especially people getting freebies. If it comes to London I would definitely see it again.
I watched this movie in New Jersey state USA .Edison Little India Theatre. They booked 2 theaters.I was told the hero and heroine were not Goans nor they knew Konkani language before acting in this movie.Yes They had to learn and understand Konkani language very well to show real expression while acting in this unique movie. I was also told the story of this movie was the story of Famous Konkani actress Lorna Cordeiro.

Brilliant film!! I watched this movie in a house full theater in Goa. (Can't belive that movies can go House Full even now this age of Multiplex) What a awsome Direction, Screenplay, Cinematography and best part of this film is it's Songs and Actors. From its production value to the way the story has been narrated... from no angel it looks like any regional film... though it is a Konkani fim! I'm now eagerly waiting for it to release it in Mumbai now and would watch it again here in Mumbai!! Hopefully may be in a theater that has board outside which say "House Full" 😉

Finally had the chance to see this beautifully executed film. With a few minor flaws , mostly due to money constrain a masterpiece on the Konkani stage. If before we Goans had a World class Jazz musician and a singer in Chris Perry and Lorna respectively, now we can proudly say we have a film director given the opportunity, who can compete with the best in Hollywood and Bollywood. I haven't seen the film as yet, but some of my friends who saw it tell me that they liked it immensely. They say the songs have been superbly recreated. I have uploaded on my CZcams channel some of the original songs (along with the lyrics) that are featured in the movie. Do have a look.

Watched it at Ravindra Bhavan the other day. Excellent work overall, however, smoking and bar scenes could have been trimmed or totally avoided. These scenes tend to stereotype Goan image and hence could have been avoided.

Many of my friends and colleagues who saw the film Nachom-ia Kumpasar complain that Nachomia Kumpasar is very BLAND and amateurish. Palomi Ghosh is a good actress but Palomi please do not rush and make a mistake by lending your face to films like Nachomia Kumpasar. You will loose all your stardom opportunities in Bollywood. I must congratulate Bardroy Barretto for the good quality and editing of the film. But the good quality and editing is only due to the low cost of digital technology. Nachomia Kumpasar leaves a very sour and bitter taste when compared to epic konkani movies Amchem Noxim, Nirmon, Bhuerantlo Munis and Mogacho Anvddo. Bardroy should be nailed for portraying our lovely Goa as a place of men drinking alcohol and women dancing sensually. Alcoholism and sexuality should have been omitted from the film. Instead of copying songs from the 60's, New original songs should have been composed by the music director Ronnie Monserrate. Lorna Goa's nightingale should have been contracted to sing the songs. Ronnie Monserrate tried his best but evidently he lacks the expertise to compose. Ronnie Monserrate's music sounds like a Quack musical copier when compared to the original 60's music. Copying proves that Bardroy Barretto and Ronnie Monserrate the directors are unprofessional.

Palomi Gosh is a good actress, one can see that. But just for knowledge sake, and Palomi not spoiling her good offers from Bollywood, which is the other films that she has done? I guess you are just making things up here and trying to fool the viewers. This is her first big film. Prove me wrong. Bland and Amateurish, did you say? The highest film awarding authority in India has awarded 3 awards to this film recently. Where does that leave your knowledge and opinion? You talk about original songs. Do you know that there are 100s of big hit, English songs, which are sung again and again by succeeding generation of singers. If this singers are doing something wrong, they would have been in jail, but they are not. This business involves millions of dollars and is serious matters. If low cost of digital technology has helped him do good quality, than what is stopping others directors and producers, specially in konkani area, where funds are main draw back for good production? What Bardroy Barreto has shown is reality of Goa. The unreality is shown by the hindi films. You should shower them some of you tongue power. It does not have a bone, so it does not hurt to waggle it.

This film is a bad example for children. Yesterday, I threw all Chris and Lorna CD's music from my house. I was a big fan of Chris and Lorna for 62 years. But after this film I don't want my children to follow this path. This film shows Chris and Lorna engaged in extra marital affair. Chris cheated on his wife. and Lorna is an alcoholic, a B****** and having an affair with a married man. This film is bad for children.
Do keep up with news of the world, and don't be surprised at the end of your life. You cannot do now what you did not 20 years before. I would advise you to throw out all your CDs of Micheal Jackson, Madonna, and so many countless celebrities who were, and are in so many scandals ( they are not good for you and your children, Your children must be in their thirties, and so are still small kids) That's your vision. In my vision, I treasure Chris Perry and Lorna, like no other Goans musicians.
A known fact and confirmed by the original characters -The production and the writer stole the story and took advantage of the fact that the artists portrayed are old and helpless. The singer was told it was a narrative for an article and he used the story for the movie without giving any royalties or credits to help her out and takes all the credit of the movie without mentioning the inspiration behind it. It's a shame !

Just watching the trailer I can see how beautiful the film has been directed and produced ( 3.5 crore contributed by 96 producers) Learn to appreciate something good. Anyway it has been appreciated by the highest body of film awarding committee in India. Your flop opinion hardly counts.

Joaquim Teles I am sorry to say that they dont issue free tickets for this movie. People see it again and again by buying tickets. Difficult to get tickets in Goa even now. It is running in full houses. The best movie ever seen by me. The acting of Palomi Ghosh is superb and fantastic so to say. I fully agree with Joemike Fernandes.

Dom Moniz, Last week at a family get together here in London Tottenham Court, hundreds of our party guests laughed at this film when my parents showed them this film. They were shouting "Shut off that silly film". Acting is low grade like a school drama. Direction is beginer level. Director is hundred years back in time. Nice try director. Better luck next time.

About criticism of the film and Palomi Ghosh, I remembered about a wise man saying " Nobody ever kicks a dead dog". This movie is a beautiful piece of lovely songs of yesteryears.
