The sunken ammunition ship is the SS Richard Montgomery. She went down in 1944. Just found your channel and subscribed. I enjoy your videos. Like you, I'm also a fan of Graeme Pullen's TA fishing adventures. Thinking of heading for Sheerness next Sunday (which is how I found your video - was looking for info on YT). It's a toss up between that and Eastbourne at the moment. All the best.
Thanks for the information and lovely comments. Really appreciate the sub and am a fishing obsessive weather has been a tad cold the last couple months and winter species moved further north. Summer species just starting to arrive and fishing has been a little tough although should improve. Am fishing Church Norton tomorrow near Pagham then Shoreham on Sunday and Pevensey on Monday. Sheerness a bit patchy and possibly Eastbourne a better chance of fish winds light easterlies which never help. Low tide at sheerness on Sunday is 10.11am and Eastbourne 9.09am.
My big fingers on small keypad meant to add that I grew up reading Graeme Pullen’s books and had many adventures through him and like his practical and make do style of fishing would be interested to hear which beach you chose and never know we might meet one day 👍👍cheers Paul
@@SeaFishingWithPaul Hi Paul. I'm leaning towards Eastbourne/Pevensey (although it's a longer drive), but will let you know. I was at Langney Point a fortnight ago. There was a stiff SW wind and choppy/coloured water so thought I might have a chance of a bass, but no joy. Didn't blank, though, which was the main thing.
@@laurieharper1526 Hi Laurie Ross cannot come tomorrow so am still going to Selsey and then on Sunday defo to Shoreham and he is coming down although his poor old car is playing up and he lives in London. Shoreham east for me as closest beach but we are in with a chance of a ray 🤞🤞🤞let me know how you get on cheers Paul
Hahaha my home town is called Sheppy 😀 and there’s a great beach there just a bit over fished. Your Sea reminds me of river fishing here. It’s very flat. Glad you got whitting for tea 👍
The world is full of coincidences and you could not make it up two Sheppeys in the world 😂😂😂 Sheppey here is an island which sits at the mouth of the river Thames and juts into the North Sea. Can fish it’s head of and is very sheltered hence quite calm even on the roughest of South Westerlies hitting the south coast which is the nearest beach to where I currently live. However am looking seriously at buying a house on Sheppey so beach right on doorstep and initially use at weekends as still working although only three days a week lucky me. Then when I retire would live there full time as it is A place of wildness, nature and many people go on holidays there from London. It has industrial landscape and countryside and a sense of community. I live near Gatwick airport which is one massive airport in the Uk although quiet at the moment because of the pandemic 😷 whiting for tea can be a blessing in disguise as quite fiddly to prepare as they are quite bony. My view is always do justice and respect what you catch to eat stay safe am going to get a 🍺 Cheers Paul

South coast and is also near this massive river called Umzimkhulu. The mouth always flows into the sea making it a brown color and when it’s clean it’s olive. Lovely stuff great chatting maybe one day I will do a video there so you can see, enjoy your beer cheers 🍻
Seems to be fishing well for whiting and picked up a few which am having tonight with mash and butter. Found a few leads at low tide which saves buying as they aren’t cheap. Deciding where to go tomorrow thanks for taking time to comment. Cheers Paul
@@SeaFishingWithPaul dusk high tides and 15/25ft close casting tops, as for rays need to be over them oyster beds to the left of the outlet (imo). had my best thornback rays from the ship on shore pub straight out infront of the steps low water up , bit dodgy going back up the rocks in the dark as tide comes in mine was about 8 1/2lb pals was 11 1/2 using straight lug nothing else believe it or not
Cracker of a weight, biggest I have caught is 7lb 2oz and want one over ten. Will take your advice and fish left of oyster beds. Probably have another go tomorrow and might go to the ship on shore mark cheers Paul

Hi Steve, you have brought a smile to my old wrinkly old bloke face. Went down to Shoreham yesterday and am just putting video together and should be up later today. I try to be as realistic as possible with the ups and downs of fishing, generally never goes to plan and we have all had those days full of expectation that then go slowly down the drain. Hope you are not feeling too bad after your operation and which part of the country do you come from? Cheers Paul

But I do enjoy my fishing down on the beach ...I come from a place could beccles just near lowestoft . Like you also catch the never ending whiting which are only here a certain part of the year thank God Will carry on watching your clips .I liked the plaice you caught it was a cracker .. @@stevemorgan8188 Hi Steve lovely part of the country and a tough man you must be working offshore, the beach I find calms my mind and gets me nearer to nature. Have done since I was a nipper when my uncle introduced me to see fishing. Owned my own boat for 20 years and it ate money and sold it two years ago and do not miss it. Beach is so much simpler and safer as a couple of lads from Seaford were lost at sea two days ago. There boat sunk and one fellow rescued. My heart is sad for there families. Get well soon and thanks for watching. Another one up in an hour or two cheers Paul

Went there yesterday afternoon 4pm onwards had some nice size whiting for the pan and reeled in someones rig/ lead on my last cast
