Great content. The s23 ultra is a little better in video mode, but the note20 ultra held its own in the camera comparison. Overall, the note20 ultra did exceptionally well after 3yrs.

I think that diferens is a little lower when reduce the video resolución. In 1080 - 60 i dont see a really big differences. Only in front camera night video the s23 ultra really kick down the note20. Overall, both of them do well. If u think buy someone for economy I would prefer the note20

I have a note 20 ultra. Running one UI 5.1. People said they won't get updates wrong. I got an update in May 2023. In the real world it's a beast, you cant tell the difference unless you have them side by side. Note 20 ultra has a slightly bigger screen than s23 ultra. NOTE Is 6.9 inches. Very similar to S23 ultra. Function wise !. Battery last a whole day. Half a days use takes like 40-50% with CZcams and all. speakers are loud. Screen is amazing. Plus has expandable storage. Note has about 97% of everything s23 ultra has. Obviously s23 U is three year newer and benefits from a slightly faster chip. And cameras but in the REAL WORLD. you don't really notice it. Butter smooth
What people are referring to is that it won't get Android 14 with Samsung OneUI 6.0 which is true. It will keep getting security patches for a while. My Galaxy Note 9 got an update in February even though is on Android 10. Thanks for watching and stay safe.
@Soto-Tek I do understand what they're saying. I hoped that my comment would help someone's who's genuinely interested. But buying a device for a promise of a future updates exclusing security updates. makes no sense to me. Imo. For example. If you look at the demographic who complain about these things, they are also not the people who own NOTES or ULTRAs and I suspect samsung knows that. but they own regular versions of these devices. These devices are aimed at a specific niche. Thus the reason the S Pen and the curved-ish screen was returned to the S23 ultra.
I think that Samsung should have included the S20/Note20 series when the extended the update period. Owners of the S21 series got the extra year and will get both Android 14, One UI 6 and Android 15, One UI 7. The mid and lower tier phones like the A, F and M should get less years of updates, especially as there specs are lower. My S20FE 5G is more powerful and capable than the best and current A54 phone currently out!
@konradc12 I have both a ote 20 U and a A72. I've seen the one UI 6.1 beta. I'm not too impressed tbh. My Note did get a feature update a few weeks ago. Samsung pushed it as a Security update. But it did change the way the camera works. For atm I'm fine. I've seen what android 14 has to offer, and many of the features are already baked into samsung phones.

Great comparison. In many conditions the Note was not that bad, even equal. At least on the phone screen and without zooming in pixels.
But in some others the difference is huge, like selfie camera video at night.

The Note 20 Ultra did well in most situations. If I owned one, I would wait one more year before getting a new phone. I have been using Samsung's for 10 years and since my S20FE 5G the phones have been super. Sad Samsung didn't extend The S20/Note 20 range the extra year. Very good comparison as always, plus seeing my old neighbourhood is a bonus. 👍🏾
Yes, Samsung's strategy in relation to the updates is completely wrong. The S20/Note 20 are better phones than any in the A and M series Samsung has released so far and will get 2-3 more OS updates. Thanks for watching once again. Stay safe.
Thank you for this video. A fantastic real-life test. The camera performance on the S23 Ultra in low light conditions is pretty incredible comparing to the Note 20 Ultra. I was battling myself whether or not I should upgrade but thanks to your video the answer is clear. I love the fact that you used everyday, kinda dull landscape because it makes this test even more useful. You know - a photo from an epic mountain or paradise island they in a perfect weather will never give you that true feel. Also you've got a very friendly face :)

Actually hard to tell who's the winner. It's easy to say the new phone, but i myself think the note20 did better in quite a few cases. Plus, i like its colors and hdr better...
Currently rocking a note10+ but really looking forward to get an ultra because of the zoom camera, really just because of that.

Knowing that my Note 20 Ultra is not that far behind is quite comforting. I kinda like the more vibrant colors on the Note but the S23 definitely has more clarity.
Could I ask how both phones do photographing a moving object? So far I am thinking the note 20 is definitely better value. Was wondering if it can produce for example with kids and pets (always on the move!) - great video, best I've seen of all types of shots 👍🏻

@@seschannel2636 I understand completely. Before I got the iPhone 14 ProMax I had only had Samsung Galaxy. I currently have the Samsung S23 Ultra and the iPhone 14 Pro Max. As capable as Samsung’s camera is, the video just doesn’t really compete with iPhone. I also find that Samsung’s camera oversharpens and oversaturates photos of the face.
The best and I would say the only android capable to match the iphone when it comes to freezing moving subjects in various lighting conditions are the Pixel series of phones, PiXel 6/ pro and above also give great video quality though still iphones are still better in this regard but not a huge advantage. However I must warn you I am not a fan of the processing of the pixel I feel is too sharpen for my liking but at the same time the photos are too contrast tea for me and also the Shadows than to be a little bit muddy, I own a Pixel and it's great but I prefer Samsung or iPhone for photos for the aforementioned reason.
Pixel is the best for freezing moving subjects though.
I have Note 20 Ultra, its main camera became very soft since recent software update some months ago.
For night time photos, in most real life situations where the subject is moving or my hand is moving, pictures would not be usable. For this, I use my Huawei P40 Pro, which is phenomenal in extreme low light handheld photos, even without activating night mode.

If the note 20 ultra had better battery life, I would still use it. The 23 has better battery life. But the Note 20 has better storage options. I miss the micro SD card

go for the S21 Ultra. Samsung has a manual video and photo feature... Video is better with Samsung compared so the Pixel. I suggest you buy a refurbished/second-hand s21 Ultra, just make sure that its the Snapdragon version.

I don't think the S23 Ultra is heavy at all but it's a matter of personal likings. It's all down to your personal needs and preferences not mine. The S23 Ultra is the better all around phone but the Note 20 Ultra at its current price, in my very personal opinion, offers a lot more value for money. Thanks for watching and stay safe.

Even certain phones back in like 2015 had great cameras til this day the LGG4 with its 16 megapixel camera and it's color spectrum censor takes the best flash photography i ever seen on a smart phone but samsungs 200MP camera has taken the closest thing to what i see with my own eyes i default to the 200mp camera its that dam good

I have a note 20 ultra. Tbh I'd say the video quality isn't as close to the s23 in real life because once youre not in direct sunlight the camera struggles to focus unless u manually select something. The photos however are top quality compared to any phone. I think Samsung phones reached their max at photos and they just change color a bit to make them different every year.
Incredible comparisons. Gotta say s23 performs better in selfie camera and picks up light a lot more and performs in low light much better. Other than the camera and battery, not much of an upgrade. I have the option to trade my note 20 ultra for s23 ultra 512gb edition. They offer $500 for the note 20, which makes the s23 ultra $650 total. You think this is worth it? Or wait for s24 ultra?

If you use Samsung music app a lot it doesn't work the same way on Samsung's latest phones from the S21 series. Some tracks might not be supported and not play. @@Soto-Tech2020 Yes its in the US. I don't use the Samsung music app thankfully. My main gripe is the Note 20 looks better imo and is a perfectly functioning phone. Also it comes with a preinstalled screen protector; for some weird reason Samsung stopped doing this. I just want to be able to find a good sleek case and functioning screen protector, seems like the biggest challenge of the phone.

Picture & video quality isn't that much of a difference worth upgrading. The Note 20 ultra is still on top with the Micro sd slot supporting 1tb of extra storage. S23 is too limited for me.
