Hey everyone, I'm String Player Gamer (or SPG for short) I've been a music producer and violinist all my life! Pizza Tower's Soundtrack totally caught me be surprise! Pizza Tower is a 2023 platform game created by the indie developer Tour De Pizza and released for Windows and Steam Deck exclusively through the Steam distribution platform. The game follows pizza chef Peppino Spaghetti as he traverses the titular tower to save his pizzeria.

Fun fact about Pumpin': Due to how the battle is made, If you manage to get every hit possible on The Noise (The boss in question), The transition into the second phase should time up almost exactly to the short drum interlude at 2:04.
It's one of the coolest parts of the fight.
The hole game soundtrack is incredible at lining up transitions with the music. And I'm quite sure the transition happens regardless because the music loops over if you failed to hit The Noise. But yea boos fight music and escape music is on purpose made to line up with the gameplay.
@@TheDiner50 actually no, if you get in the extra hit immediately at the start (mash grab and hold right to get a free hit) you can actually beat the soundtrack to the transition.
İ think no one realized in unexpectancy 3 when pizza face comes out he puts last minute of the song to loop so its actually made to be like that and it loops from the same place over and over again tour de pizza is soo smart on doing these stuff even the death that i deservioli has the song going mute in 1 room transitcion of john gutter if you watch p rank videos or try it as fast as you can the pizza box i think will get the lap 2 song quiet down then song comes back to normal again

Great choice of songs here, also congrats you've listened to every boss theme. The violin addition on Yeehaw DeliveryBoy was AMAZING. I still recommend " Peppino's Sauce Machine ".

the voice sample in yeehaw delivery boy was also used in the track Sneakman in the game Jet Set Radio. I'd definitely suggest taking a look at the osts of both games including other work by Hideki Naganuma if you haven't yet. also the surfer dude comment at the end reminded me of the band Daikaiju they have a very "surfer rock" style going. its a really fun style.

Tubular Trash Zone is one of if not my favourite Pizza Tower songs, and that's impressive considering I listen to the entire soundtrack in my free time! A lot of people like it for the rock guitar solo, but my favourite part is the one that comes right before, actually. I love the buildup because it sounds so harsh, droning and juxtaposes the high-pitched main melody playing! It has perfect cohesion, simply.

You've got to listen to Way of the Pig! It's the sister track to Bite the Crust which you already listened to. They're both used in the same level.

Pepper man strikes is absolutely my favorite boss theme (outside of unexpectency) and peppinos sauce machine. I strongly recommend trying out both. Love your vids :)

Very cool! Pumpin hot stuff really reminded me of Stardust Speedway (bad future JP specifically) from Sonic CD's Japanese soundtracks. That's another amazing game soundtrack!
As for Pizza Tower specifically, as always, Celsius Troubles( and it's sister track with the really long name), Dungeon Freakshow, and Unearthly Blues, the first level theme that introduces you into this crazy soundtrack.
May I suggest listening to Trizic's pumpin hot stuff remix?

More great hits from Pizza Tower! I'll have to recommend "Bite the Crust", "Way of the Pig", and then the 1-2 combo of "Pizza Engineer" and "Peppino's Sauce Machine", since they're very similar like how Hot/Cold Spaghetti are

Pizza Tower's OST has CONSISTENTLY reminded me of Hideki Naganuma's work in Jet Set Radio in your videos, if I may suggest a few songs that can be observed, Some of my favorites from Jet Set Radio are Funky Dealer, Sneakman, Let Mom Sleep, Teknopathic and Grace and Glory. Super interested in your insights to some of those tracks.

In the '80s/'90s, the invention of sampling allowed people to turn anything into an instrument. That eventually evolved into '90s hip-hop and the DJ scene, which Jet Set Radio was absolutely in love with.
But wait, it gets better, because Bombrush Cyberfunk AKA JSRF 2.0 released this year WITH HIDEKI NAGANUMA IN IT and "GET ENUF" and "DA PEOPLE" are strong contenders for some of the best tracks in the game.
I don't know why but, when he is playing the violin he adds a vibe of a "last hope" and some of "melancholic" feeling in the original soundtrack, greetings from Argentina :D.
You should try listening to the floor themes for the tower, for 5 floors they all have different music which adapt to the environment of the floor.
oh man the tubular trash zone freestyle......... not only amazing as always but i LOVE how you held back to just let the gnarly guitar solo play out. really makes it feel like you're a part of the band, heheh

Well, since you reacted to some of Pizza Tower's OST, how about an AU's OST? Sugary Spire has banger tracks like Glucose Getaway and Sweet Release Of Death.
Don't forget about blue licorice :) the whole soundtrack is amazing but I think my favorite are all the escape themes (so far)

i think you would really enjoy Good Eatin’, it’s one my personal favorites and is such a vibe. it has a funky yet swing type of feel to it and i can’t help but dance to it almost every time it turns on. definitely deserves a look

If Sonic 3 had a sewer stage, Tubular Trash Zone would not be out of place.

Pumpin' Hot Stuff, composed by Mr. Sauceman, is the boss battle theme for a character called The Noise. The Noise has had quite the history when it comes to Pizza Tower, in fact, he was one of the main antagonists at one point and the one that would trigger "Pizza Time". He was even made a playable character at one point during the game's development. Though he's not playable when the final game finally launched, there ARE plans to make him playable at a later date, since all of his animations are essentially finished. As for the song itself, it's actually an updated version of a song called "Pimpin' Hot Stuff", which was used for a Noise mini-boss fight in the "Peppino's Xmas Break" demo. Not only does the song contain what long-time Pizza Tower fans will recognize as the Noise's leitmotif, it also gives off vibes of Sonic CD, in particular Sonic's battle with Metal Sonic, highlighting the rivalry Peppino has with the Noise. It's all very fascinating stuff, in addition to being a killer song!
Yeehaw DeliveryBoy was composed by ClascyJitto, though it feels like it could have been composed by Hideki Naganuma, the composer of the Jet Set Radio games as well as the first Sonic Rush. In particular, the use of the sample "I don't understand what's going on here!", which was also used in Jet Set Radio, gives off heavy Naganuma vibes. This is honestly kind of funny, considering how "western" the track otherwise sounds to me with that whistling.
Tubular Trash Zone, composed by Mr. Sauceman, is easily my favorite song tied to a specific level. I'm not even sure what to say about it, it just goes so hard, plus I love the grunge-y feel that let's you know it's a sewer level theme (the name of the level his flipping hilarious, by the way). Out of all the tracks in the game, I've listened to it the most, after It's Pizza Time, Unexpectancy, and The Death That I Deservioli. And yeah, the level totally references the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, particular with Ninja enemies scattered throughout the level!
Once again, great commentary, I'm so glad you reacted to some of my favorite tracks! I'm still hoping you'll also listen to Good Eatin', There's a Bone in my Spaghetti, and Pizza Deluxe! eventually!

It would be fun to see you react to the Anton Blast OST to be honest. The fact that people see Anton Blast a bit like the sister-game of Pizza Tower makes it fitting for this video to request it. The songs ‘Boiler City’, ‘It’s Happy Hour’ & ‘Turnin up the Heat’ are probbably the songs I should listen to first, because these are the most distinct. Anton Blast is currently in it’s development state, so we only know about the songs from the demo.

Funny you mentioned the ninja turtles in the tubular trash zone, because there is an enemy in this level that is a direct reference to them
well, I haven't seen anyone talk about it yet so I'm gonna suggest "Wudpecker (Gnome Forest B)". It's one of my favorite tracks and I'd love to see you react to it.

I'd recommend when you go through the whole soundtrack you go back and listen to Expectancy part 3 the leit motifs hit so hard and so well when you realize what they're referencing.

Might I recommend the soundtrack from "A Hat in Time"? Specific tracks I'd suggest are "Your Contract Has Expired" and "Oh It's You".

Really like the parallel you made between It's Pizza Time! being more melodic, while Pumpin' Hot Stuff is more atmospheric. It's kinda fitting too, considering Peppino and The Noise are old rivals.
Also yeah, Tubular Trash Zone is definitely inspired by Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. It takes place in a sewer, and features enemies that resemble the ninja turtles (ninja pizza slices)!
