  • This is an Akai Professional MG14D 12-track analog recorder from 1988, with optional ML14 Autolocator. The unit features DBX 1 noise reduction, and uses a cassette format that is based on a Betamax. The tape speeds are 9.5cm/s and 19cm/s.
This particular unit has new elco''s in the PSU and control PCB's. Nieuwe idler, pinch roller etc.
These units are quite rare, especially in working condition.

I think I can hear a difference between the recording and the playback, but I am not sure.....
    Does it needs calibrating?

@PhilipvanderMatten I'm working on fabricating an alignment tape, from a 1/2" MRL. Original alignment tapes are very rare... There are small difference between the channels, correct. All other calibrations that do require an alignment tape have already been done
