Hi Kicki - I agree with you on many counts. The reviewers I enjoy the most don’t necessarily share my taste, but they are able to articulate what they smell/perceive in a unique way. Fine to read or list the notes, but I want more than that. Some of my favorites are The Top Note, Claire Smith, Smurfy Girly, Rose and Jones, Veronica Says, Simply Ayesha, The Scented, I am Noelle, Ouch110 and Emy’s World of Fragrance. They all have a unique perspective, collection and engaging personality 💗 I applaud you for following your own path! You get to a point in life where you realize that’s all we can really do, right?

I really enjoy your channel and your unique perspective on niche fragrances. I've found out about Shelly Waddington from you. I'm loving a sample of Lorelei and considering a full bottle. It's such a realistic, not sweet, purple floral. Thank you!

    That was me! 🙂
May I recommend the CZcams channels fragrance view (a British fragrance CZcamsr that makes his own perfumes) and my2scents -- a bartender that moonlights a collector that's been in the game for quite a bit actually.

Will be sure to check these out! Thank you. Interesting how we can find fragrances so different. Are you a fan of Squid? I kind of was at first, but then that combination became a little disturbing. It is super unique fragrance, though.

I do not like squid. Fascinating, to hear someone describe a fragrances as disturbing.

I really enjoy your take on perfumes a lot. I also watch the reviewers you mentioned. Do you watch Ouch110 or the Top Note? I like them also. Thank you! oxJulia

    Hello Kiki,
thanks for your thoughts on the latest sampling and what you wore recently.
I am sorry your latest bottle didn't live up to your test wear of it. I think that can happen with those tiny samples. Sometimes formulas can change between when one gets a sample and buys a bottle. I have tested certain Amouage fragrances more than once and sometimes the fragrance seems to have changed. It seems to have been a industry wide thing in the past year or two with new regulations on what perfumers can use. 😒 I feel like a lot of perfumes have become flat. They seem to lack the nuances they once had. They smell chemical.
I agree about some niche being much more interesting to smell and wear. The best are the complex ones that take you on a journey over a number of hours of wear. They are not always easy to wear. They are usually not boring.
I don't think the general public are aware niche exists unless it's become a hobby. They just want to smell nice and have it be affordable. I think that's why so much smells the same. They must do some sort of market research and that is what appeals to the majority of noses?
I see others have listed some of the channels I enjoy. I might also suggest Karine who's channel is - Olfactive Stories, Wafts From the Loft, Pep's channel - The Sentinel, Peter's channel - Fragrance View (he is also a perfumer), Steve's channel - Ramsey (does niche and older formulations of fragrances), Rich Mitch, Wendi's Parade of Perfumes, Eternalscentjourney, Persolaise Perfumes (most of his are recorded live streams), Sarah McCartney the perfumer for 4160 Tuesdays, Yve Spider Smells (but she hasn't done recent videos). There are others I enjoy but they range in what they talk about which can include designers.
    Thanks for your video!
    Take care! ~ Jenn

It sounds like you have been in this hobby/passion longer than I have. My friend Klara has been into it and collected perfumes since she was 12 years old and she often finds perfumes watered down and flat compared to what they used to be. I think it has to do with money and really big players buying the smaller houses and stricter regulations about what is allowed in fragrance.
Thanks for all the tips about other youtubers! Will check them out. A few I already know about but there were many new names.

Is 400 more for casual or formal suit up?

    • @thehonestperfumereviewer6336
      @thehonestperfumereviewer6336  Před 9 měsíci

It is not casual! It would work for date night or a formal dressy event. It is quite strong and projects well. It is sweet with a hint of bitterness.
