Those young people did that! They were beaming with pride. That is a hard parade route to do. The best in the land. No one can top that! and they were leading the parade! How awesome. You all looked great, sounded great and showed Black excellence! Congrats to the band leader, admin, parents and entire band and everyone who participated, as well as those behind the scenes who made sure they got there and were looking good. Shout out to The Drum Majors and The Divas, y'all showed up and showed out. I am beaming with tears. So proud of this HBCU for representing all of us. Love From me, a Howard Uni. Alum. We saw this band @ 67th Central Park side. They are phenomenal! Found them again on YT & can’t Stop watching. What a surprise to see a well coordinated group of young people performing at such a high level. Bravo!

Wow!! That looks like one hell of a workout at a fast pace with such movements. What stamina that takes to do that blowing on those instruments as well. That’s a difficult position to be the lead band of the entire parade setting such a frantic pace. Job well done Alabama A & M University Band!

We are a huge AAMU Alumni family and planned our Redrick family reunion in NY so that we could watch the parade in person...18 of us were in full effect on 47th and 6th Ave to watch the Marching Maroon and White make history as the 1st HBCU to lead off the Macys Thanksgiving Day Parade. It was amazing we all were beaming with HBCU Pride. #Morehouse #Spelman #Howard #Tuskegee #Hampton
Bama A & M I’m from The Bronx NY and now living in FL. I watched you all and wished I was there to witness in person such classy your men and women lead off the Macy Parade. All my 58 years never seeing such beauty start off that event. Thank you for representing and making proud.

Alabama A&M, you represented with EXCELLENCE!!!! I was so proud of each of you, especially my nephew on cymbals! As an alumni and also having been a band member back in the early 80’s, it was heartwarming to witness this moment. I was up at 5:30am California time and it was worth every moment! Which reminds me, I am from Forkland AL, A&M’s placement office assisted me in finding a co-op/intern position in 1982, graduated in 1984, they offered me a permanent position and I’ve been in California every since!! I thank this amazing institution for affording me such a wonderful opportunity and an awesome life style!
Wow wow and more wow...I had to watch from beginning to end.....soooooooo very Proud of these Blessed Beautiful Young Men and Women making history with each step of Their March...everyone stayed in sync and not one move out of place....that is true Talent. Love them and I Thank God for each and everyone of them. That was a long March and not one Person lost their step or beat. Thank you dear God for giving them the Strength to do what they had to do. Thinking again on your opinion perhaps you need to check Alabama State University out in Montgomery Alabama we are rivalry to Alabama A&M in the largest classic in the nation the Magic City Classic in Birmingham Alabama always played the last sat in October you need to check footage of these two rivalry footage band performances!

There are no words to witness this moment. I marched in the Tournament of Roses Parade back in 06 and to see history repeat itself is simply AMAZING

Awesome start to finish. The best marching unit in the parade. How fitting they were 1st not last in order. Dancers & Flag Corp on point with the band. And, of course the dynamic drum majors. ❤🎉
