Probably gonna have to start with loading or unloading trucks until you earn a better (seniority) spot, definitely can’t do those positions forever but that’s usually where we start.
Took me 2 years before I got my position outside of loading, now I pick off to the loaders and don’t plan on moving.
If you hire at the right time tho, during peak when they’re really desperate, I’ve seen new hires skip having to load/unload and go straight to smalls/sort because they needed so much help (but I also seen them come back to loading if they make it out of peak season)

Personally I don’t mind loading, I enjoy the workout but doing it day in and day out can definitely wear you out physically. If you can handle the heavy lifting then it comes down to your mindset, it can be a toxic aggravating environment at times but if you just keep trucking along doing your thing no matter how heavy it gets and don’t let the supervisors get in your head you’ll be just fine.
The longer you stay the easier it gets cause you’ll be able to earn a better position. Just don’t expect to start out with something easy like everyone else, put in the work and you’ll reap the rewards

Damn, you need to reevaluate your career. You could literally work at Walmart starting off at 15 an hour. My man started there at 15$ and within 3 months got promoted to shift lead and made 20$ an hour. It's all on work ethic and I think if you're working hard, you need something worth your time. I would never work for 12$ an hour. 14 or 15 is the least I'm taking. I've got a kid, I can't waste my time on 12$ an hour. I bet that won't even cover the bills.
