So refreshing to hear Scarlett talk about how unaffordable it is to go to the movies now. For someone who has clearly been doing very well for herself from a very young age, its amazing that she's grounded enough to even recognise that.
I noticed that Scarlett ALWAYS deflects with a joke when she gets complimented on her work. I think she's avoiding becoming emotional because she really does love what she does. You can tell it means so much to her.
She's humble. Not many stars are that humble. Anybody, a star or an ordinary person doesn't do things for praise, they do it because they want to. Praise is hard to accept when you're genuine.

If you're referring to Ghost in The Shell, the character is literally not human and has no race, as confirmed by the creator. The studio was also only auditioning white actresses for the role, so I don't think Scarlett deserves to take the blame here. Even if she dropped out, they were not casting an Asian woman in that part.
Awkafina deserves to be at that table after farewell. Jlo could just go under the table, no one would notice.

No shade but J Lo is a little bit out of place between other guests. It's like Philip Plein jacket between Galliano, McQueen and Dior gowns. The Plein jacket might be nice on its own but there is no compare with upper scale haute couture - same J Lo and other guests is different realm.

Not sure if it's just me that got this feeling, but around 22:00 when Renee is speaking to Scarlett, I got the sense that Scarlett felt very seen and validated by Renee on a deep level, almost like she was about to cry. Anyone else? It was moving watching and hearing that moment. Bravo to all the ladies, a lovely round table, one of my favorites.
Spatulas Without Borders it was a genuine very real moment. She spoke front he heart, and Scarlett heard her deep in her soul. It was a quietly powerful connection and moment.

i teared up around there. not only because scarlett was hearing such a compliment from veteran actress speaking to her directly about her talent but also that renee's tone was so gentle and comforting, and we can feel truly she 1,000% means what she was saying. that wasn't saying something just to be nice, but that she really did see scarlett's work throughout the years and really believed in her early on

Renee’s southern accent is just beautiful. Usually southern accents can be quite grating, but her voice is so soft and melodic.
It’s probably because she’s been out of the spotlight for some time, but I don’t think I ever realized how strong her accent is.

Scarlett talking about how the industry oversexualized her rings so true. She's only a year and an half older than me and I remember thinking she was so much older back then because of how she was presented to us. She went from being a kid to being a sexpot almost overnight. She was a teenager in the late 90s, early 2000s and people tend to forget that. I think it's amazing and beautiful how she managed to avoid being typecast for the rest of her life.
@Nestor El demente: She was a child actress with plenty success before she became so obviously gorgeous. The film industry then kept giving her roles emphasising her looks, but her talent has still shown through. She never was a one dimensional bimbo in her roles, she gave depth to her characters.
@fortnite4201 x There's a whole boycott of that movie, and many people, myself included, who have significant problems with it. There are quite a few videos and articles about it too. That movie doesn't take away from SJ's experience, and this video was released long before that movie to come out. I'm sure the comment section on a video about Cuties or young girls being sexualized would have plenty of people addressing it.

She has definitely played Judy Garland with her outstanding job..but her approach as personality resembles the great Audrey Hepburn...the same beautiful, charm, elegance, gentle, subtle and very calm.

She's a really stunning person both in her acting and physicalities. It's a shame most of these women of such skin color don't get scouted very often because for sure they can be the most amazing actresses. Seriously, management of recruiting these folks is kinda shitty right now especially for Hollywood. They're not even majority white getting in but just mediocre and or below par compared to before eras of Hollywood. Same thing for Musicians in their craft. The quality is just sinking.

Laura Dern is so underrated as an actor. Not only that but she was so humble and chill and positively insightful.
Laura Dern is just wonderful in Recount, Emmy winning HBO written by Danny Strong and directed by Jay Roach.
I think her performance in Inland Empire was one of the best I've ever seen.
