Politics aside, we should all be thankful that CF Moto are bringing these fantastic motorcycles to market, with any other badge on the tank and this calibre of bike simply wouldn’t exist from the big four. Hopefully this will raise the bar for all. Thanks Mark for another excellent review.
Apart from the 500cc range from Honda! Unfortunately we do have to pay for known quality and dependable engineering. Factor in the better trade in value of the Hondas, and I suspect you'll be financially better off in the end. As a commuter who changes bikes at 15000 miles, my cb500 bikes make most sense. Fun to ride too!
I enjoyed your review of what seems to be one heck of a bike for the money! No wonder these smaller (to me) capacity machines are becoming more common on our roads and at bike meets...I will be interested to see a test-ride on the 'C' if you can arrange it. P.S. Props to Poole Moto for their continued support with letting you test-ride so many of their bikes.
Thanks Mark for this delightful review. The significance of the 40 decal on the side of the rear fairing is to highlight the design studio that are now styling the newer range of CFmotos is Modena40. They are based in Rimini, Italy and are now the sole design studio for CFmoto. Kiska is not used for all the newer models released as is the VOOM & Aspar concept bike. Cheers
CF Moto are surely a breath of fresh air in an overpriced stagnating industry. Brand image and awareness needs more work in the UK likewise more dealerships. Strangely a lot of the so called mainstream utubers seem to be ignoring this brand I wonder why 🤔 thanks Mark a great review of a beautiful machine 👍
I think people are now coming around to realize these bikes are really good 😊..I enjoy reviewing these brands probably a bit more than the likes of yam Honda etc Cheers mark
G'day Mark, it's a sweet looking motorcycle, you could have a lot of fun on this one, priced to please, and not too heavy to wheel around, like the Cafe racers of old this bike would be great for city roads, spot on review again cheers mate, Neil 🤠.
Love the colour of this, usable sports bike on the road, even I'd have a go at that.. I can always tell when you really like something and I know you like this range of bikes 🎉 great review as always Mark ❣️ x
Brilliant review I’ve been waiting for this bike to come to the uk My local dealer hasn’t got this model in yet only the normal swing arm model the 450SR
Great review CF Moto are now building some really nice bikes and they’ve got some really good ones coming up soon. Hope you review those in the future and Benelli are building some really nice bikes. Would you be able to review some of those as well?👍🏻
Great review 👍These 450 engines seem to be a real gem, they are damn good looking too. Would be great to see a review of the 450 CL-C cruiser too which looks awesome in my opinion 😊👍
If that was fitted with twin front discs you would be popping stoppies everytime you braked. Give it a tail tidy and it'll look dreamy given the price point.😊😊👍👍
Well, it certainly packs a value and styling punch that's for sure (as do all the recent CF Moto offerings on this platform). I think they are going to do very well in this market/economy. Nice detailed review, thanks Mark
What a little beauty, really nice looking and performing bike for very reasonable money. one thing i dont like is the indicators in the mirrors, what if you bash the mirror? Another great video Mark look forward to your videos.
I bought the bike just because when I first looked at it, it reminded me so much of the two stroke Aprilia RS 250 I used to own and love back in the day. I have enjoyed it a lot even though it’s a little bit slow and underpowered, but has not given me any issues despite the relative abuse I have subjected it to. It sounds amazing and is truly good looking. One thing I don’t like about it though is the windshield is a joke, makes me wonder if these Chinese folks know what it is for, aside of looks.
I've been looking hard at the 450MT. I prefer the display on the TFT on this bike. I know the displays are slightly customizable, but i'd like to see the displays fully customizable with many options.
I'm jeally I don't think we're getting it here in North America :/ that single side swing arm is the cherry on top I was going to do that with my 2023 but it just wouldn't look that clean as the original and it would've cost me my kidney. If we don't get it soon like tomorrow I might just go with the Aprilia 457 k cool vid and enjoy the stunning bike.
Placing this next to a cbr500r that’s almost 10k out the door at the dealer by the time they sponge on all the bs and this can be had under 6k out the door where I went my only concern is reliability but I’m seeing nothing about issues from any owners. I know the Honda will be there years and years down the road but you get sooo much more for so much less for this. I bet it lasts there’s only one way to find out though
Thanks Mark. The CFMoto really know how to execute a great bike for value. What is now apparent is that CFMoto do allot of wind tunnel testing before moving ahead with a design. All of their bikes are stable on the highway at speed. They have managed to keep all the lift angles generating downward force, so the their bikes don't get blown around at speed. This is a really smart move on their part by making that a priority. If their bikes are not stable they become less useful and less desired... no longevity in the market place. I must say that in spite of their great execution of this bike, I really don't understand this segment of the market in this displacement size. Sport bikes are designed to be very fast and stable at speed. This mimics that but doesn't really have true sport bike speed given the small displacement engine. It's kind of like a make believe sports bike for beginners. Well, I guess you need to start somewhere. For me, the sports bike segment is of little interest. But the naked bike segment for sports riding and longer distance cruising makes allot of sense to me. And this size displacement fits right in on the lower end of that segment. By the way, will you be doing a CFMoto 800NK review any time soon? That is a very interesting bike for the value. It really outperforms the MT07 imo. It's got the suspension, exhaust sound, and cruise control, the MT07 doesn't have, as well as more power for almost the same value. Gord
@@markpulling12 My only gripe with this new model is that they didn't take the time to add lift control. This is a strategic error in my opinion. Most of the people interested in the 800 want the ability to lift the front wheel. As it is, CFMoto have used torque management to prevent that rather than allowed for lift control. They just shot themselves in the foot in this market by doing that. Granted, you have to have a way of selecting the amount of lift intervention for less experienced riders. But failing to address this has killed their introductory sales potential... once word of this gets around. After all, there is no point in offering 100 hp with 50 ft/lb of torque if you are going to negate it with torque management. Especially when the real target market is advanced riders. They should have introduced it with the full suite of stabilization features under an IMU. But they clearly want more money for that improvement and couldn't do it based upon the introductory price point they targeted. So what did they do? They punted. That's a rookie error in this business, imo. After shooting themselves in the foot on this model, I hope they can learn to hobble effectively. I'm trying to figure out the discussions they must have had in coming to this conclusion. I get it... with this light of a bike and that much power and torque... they had to have a safety feature so people don't end up flipping the bike the first time they screw up. But the resolution was a complete compromise to the platform. Booomm... foot lose but not fancy free. I have the feeling they already have an IMU with a lift sensor that manages torque, but they aren't saying that. How else can they safely deploy such a machine. Slide control is still an issue as well. The reason they aren't offering it now is because they want to introduce it later at a different price point. They didn't cut corners on their fabrication... so why did they do that on their functionality? Very strange management decisions. The side that was afraid of bad press for being a dangerous bike won out over the side afraid of bad press for being a compromised bike. Look... you can't offer this kind of performance on a budget. It must come at a cost. The 800NK is a very capable bike but will not interest those who can manage it's full performance potential. They will pay another $1- $2 K more and get an MT09. End of story... The induction of the new 450 and 800 class bikes was clearly very strategic. They got it completely right with the 450 which appears to have better performance than their 650. But the 800 they flipped because they weren't willing to introduce it at a higher price point with all the safety features. Especially as the more capable 2023 Yamaha MT09's are now being heavily discounted. So CFMoto could see that and did a bait and switch number. It's the dealers who will get screwed as they end up holding on to stock that doesn't move quickly enough. And then have to do steep discounts when the next model year comes around. That's what happened with Yamaha dealers the past year. They're now having to sell their older inventory of 2023 MT09's at cost or under cost. Gord
You really gotta start questioning your need for a main brand when CFMOTO keep knocking it out of the park in design, features, quality, and value for money.
They have upped their game but not I ve looked at used chinese bikes. Just not the same as Japanese bikes. Things rot quicker. I've seen these cheaper bikes a few years old and they look awful. Because they are cheap, riders buy them and just abuse them commuting and leaving them outside. Japanese bikes have always been more durable.
Not the best looking small sports bike out there; pretty ordinary really; a bit too much bling (totally unnecessary winglets) - what the hell are they there for; they’re only effective on 215mph MotoGP race bikes. Engine sounds like a good motor, however.
It won't matter to the majority of UK owners as most pcp their bikes. So depreciation won't affect them. Not only that, it's 5k. That's peanuts for a new bike these days.
It's all relative really...buy a bmw 18 k sell for 15 k 3 years later ... This bike is so cheap anyway...I personally wouldn't worry in the slightest...you'll probably get 3 k back after a few years Cheers mark

@jimmyjam8795 Only with the fuel savings from the honda on that millage is the same price with the cf. I have the hornet 750 and I love it.
Stunning little bike puts all other manufacturers to shame
I bought the 450NK back in March. Absolutely love it, once I fitted a tail tidy and bar end mirrors. Just put a deposit on the 450MT. Can't wait.
I'd like to have the NK but with the rear sets off the SRS and the exhaust which finishes underneath I'd be sold. Not a fan of Cannon exhausts at all.
Need a supermoto version next with that motor, would sell loads.

Really comprehensive review, it seems very polished product.. not sure how the other manufacturers can compete in this segment.

They will compete because the sheep will always buy from the traditional manufacturers and not new ones unfortunately.
