It would be quite closer but people seem to forget Carl was a half decent hardman and he certainly feared nobody including Cain Dingle. Early on in his stint Carl was shown to be quite decent at fighting but as they made him more of a villian they also made him a punchbag for some reason. If everything was consistent in the future an Aaron vs Carl King fight would be close but with Carl King edging it.
Carl hit Tom in a state of despair and frustration after Tom aimed to ruin Carl's life, Carl didn't mean for him to fall out the window. Aaron on the other hand, messed with the car with the intention for Carl to crash and die. And risked an innocent woman Nicola and her baby doing it. AND maybe Carl also felt a need to make sure Aaron would never feel the anguish he himself felt after taking someones life.
aaron actually did pretty well considering he was like 16 at the time think he would batter carl now if carl was still alive

Carl was a good hardman, but if he was still alive, he would have easily destroyed other hardman like Ross, Andy, Pete, Nate, Al, James and Lachlan
