IN THE POT SWIRL 🫖 Palmarosa & Lavender Soap | Natural Cold Processed Bar Soap | How to Make Soap

Doing an In The Pot Swirl (ITPS) technique while working with essential oils that accelerate - a bit tricky and not how I expected it to go! This is an all natural cold processed bar soap. Also vegan and palm-free .... recipe provided down below. I love using charcoal and clays in soap and making fun designs so this was an interesting experiment.
Tips for dealing with acceleration: Work at a lower temp (90ish degrees F), higher water:lye ratio, lower fats that trace quicker such as cocoa butter, use less of florals and oils that are known to accelerate, mix LESS (something I'm guilty of not following sometimes!)

The recipe I used: Enter into soapcalc.net for your size mold.
1.8:1 distilled water: lye ratio, 5% superfat
33% olive oil
33% coconut oil
10% cocoa butter
10% shea butter
8% avocado oil
6% castor oil
1 tsp sodium lactate per lb of oils (optional... I didn't include it this time)
1 T colloidal oats or kaolin clay per lb of oils
Botanicals/colorants: tomato powder, rose kaolin clay, charcoal (small amounts of each dispersed in a small amount of oil)
3:1 ratio palmarosa:lavender essential oils
(Enter into eocalc.com to find a same amount to use for your size batch)
