    3:40 The holes in the wall here is from the Ruth Ballinger siege in "Prisoner", where the police were shooting at the terrorists

    • @MarkWhich

      you mean they were actually trying to kill them?

    • @childrensorg856

      Or was it the attempts to kill Tracey Morris?

    • @mebeme007
      @mebeme007 Před 4 měsíci

      Were you told that?
      Or just an assumption?
      After all, that scene occurred further along the wall to the left of that shot at 3:40.
      And I don't recall anyone in the show who was standing directly on that corner, and was being shot at directly straight in front of the brick wall.

    • @mebeme007

      No.
      That siege happened further down to the left of the building.

      How many miles is it, roughly, between where Neighbours and Prisoner were filmed? Question from the UK, (that's why I'm using miles).

      I was bit disappointed "Reception" wasn't inside that doorway. I was almost expecting to hear a voice scream at me "Stand on the White Line!" when the footage peeked inside the doorway. 😄

      @@VictoriaBitter1976 Yeah I think back in the day, basically that studio is/was a warehouse, and technically you could've walked through areas where a "Reception Set" was built and once stood...That entire building would've probably had the wobbly walls making up the corridors. If anything, I reckon [as well as the exterior] the old brownish-floor would've been the only original feature left, as that would've made-up for the floor of the corridors....

      Even in those days, the buildings for tv stations still had separate studios with proper concrete walls in between each studio. Then there were the production, audio, editing rooms and so on above each studio.
      They weren't just one huge empty warehouse-like space and only had fake partitioned walls between each area/studio, etc.

    The exterior set for Ramsay Street was a real residential street , Pin Oak Court. The TV producers paid the people who actually lived there to stay out of the way while they were filming.

    Never understood why the "windows" were different sizes. I would understand if all the top ones were smaller to create an illusion but only half of them are.

    • @wishkid79
      @wishkid79 Před 10 měsíci +7

      The 3 upper right windows are smaller than the rest, because in ‘Prisoner’, those were the “block” cells- i.e. the solitary confinement cells, which had smaller windows to limit the amount of light coming through. Of course, in reality, that building was the studios and the windows, were fake to add to the illusion of it being an actual prison.

    Not Ch.10 but *STATION ATV-MELBOURNE* backlot. The same building was also seen in "The Box", another show produced using the Station ATV-Melbourne backlot. Ch.10 was nothing more than 208-to-215 Mhz on VHF Band 3 in the analogue days. And it was *NEVER* "Prisoner Cell Block H" in Australia, the show's home market, it was simply "Prisoner".

    The houses used for the exteriors were real, but it was impractical to actually film inside them,. so the interior shots were filmed in the adjacent studios and it was all edited together afterwards to make it look continuous.
