ang Legendary HOPIA Factory na katabi lang ng EXCELENTE HAM sa Carlos Palance St. at Quianta Market, na dating kilala bilang Kalye Echague noong araw. panoorin natin ang kuwento salikod ng kanilang a bean-filled pastry o maskilala bilang HOPIA. may Hopia Baboy, Hopia Mongo, Nag simula lang sila sa bilang Food Street noong 1927 at ngayun isa na silang Icon.
Kim Chong Tin hopia is a childhood favorite of mine. I'm 64 years old from the U.S. since 1983. Watching this is very nostalgic. These are the BEST hopia hands down.

I recall talking to Francisco Sr. whenever I buy their hopia monggo in the 80's. Back then, the store was dimly lit and simple but the hopia makes you keep coming back. I do not know if Francisco Sr. is still alive but his soft-spoken nature is still fresh in my mind. May your business continue to flourish and serve more generations to come!

Naalala ko tuloy yung dating tirahan namin sa san juan city. Dati may katabi kaming bakery na ang gamit sa pagluluto ay pugon. Kada madaling araw maaamoy ko sa kwarto ko yung pandesal na niluluto nila. Ang bango. Ang sarap. Pero ngayon wala nang ganito. Iba parin yung pandesal na niluto sa kahoy. May smokey flavor.

Hopia Factory reminds my memories with my aunt who would go there to buy hopia especially for a special holidays.I miss a lot especially hopia mongo.I’ve been here in USA for almost 3 decades and one of my itineraries is to visit and buy hopia mongo and baboy when I’m going back to have a vacation in the 🇵🇭.I never knew that there’s an additional name of Hopia Factory.What I remember was the box that was made of carton full of printed name of hopia factory outside the box and tied with a pastel colored straw.20 years ago,I was craving a hopia mongo and I was 2-3 months pregnant at that time and I asked my brother to go to Manila to buy hopia mongo in hopia factory.my brother went to Manila and trying to locate the address of Hopia Factory coz he forgot the street already.So he would asked bystanders there and they would answered him back that they don’t know “Hopia Factory” however they helped him out but with an additional name with the store.Fortunately,my brother found the hopia factory and he bought a box of hopia and sent to USA.I was so happy when I received the hopia but when I have my first bite ,it wasn’t hopia mongo I’m craving for.My brother bought the wrong flavor it was hopia baboy.I was so sad.what I did I kept the box of hopia in my freezer and I would opened my freezer q day just to look of it.

Hope to visit this place on my vacation to the Philippines soon. Hopefully I can find this place. For anyone who have tried this place, can anyone tell me how long is the shelf life of this hopia. Would like to bring back to the States for family and friends.
You can freeze it before packing it up for fresher taste if you're traveling to the states but for shorter trips ok lang kahit hindi.

Heat it in a toaster oven for 10-15 mins at 350-375F for the crust to become flaky.
The crust is the big difference that you can't get from other's hopia products.

Mongo and Ube are my favorites but I love the one with salted egg in the middle.
I bring back a box or 2 of that whenever I visit Manila.
But I have to declare them to the US Customs because they contain eggyolks.
