This is the easiest spark plug swap I've done yet! This video made my life easier for sure.
Definitely an easy one for sure but some people are just too frightened to do it on their own without knowing. Hopefully this video will give people the confidence to take it on themselves!
looks easy enough, great video for the DIY at home repairs
One of the best DIY videos Ive seen. Went real smooth except the spark plug socket I bought was a half inch drive and I had a 3/8 inch drive wrench. Quick trip to Home Depot and I bought the socket with 3/8 in drive
Easy day! Thanks for the positive feedback!
Awesome thanks mate for taking the time for the video
Appreciate the feedback! Thanks for watching
Thanks for this video. With great views on how you did it. 👍🏾💯
Thanks! Glad it was able to help!
Gotta do this for mine tomorrow. Amazing video that will definitely help a non mechanic like myself haha. Doesnt seem too hard at all!
You're welcome! Definitely an easy DIY! Let everyone know how it goes!
@@THEDriverMod_ Will do!!
Thx dude. I'll get you a beer next time I see you.
Hahaha you're welcome! I appreciate it! Subscribe and comment on all my other ford fusion DIY videos and we'll call it even!
Thanks so much for this video... !
You're welcome!
@@THEDriverMod_ successfully changed plugs this past weekend. Cylinder 2 misfire & check engine light gone !!
Thank you again - Champion 🙌🏽👑
Thanks
You're welcome
Just finished my first spark plug change thanks to you!! I have a 2017 so only a minor difference with the air intake pipe having more connectors. Coil packs gave a little trouble, the 2 end bolts were giving me a hard time, 8mm just didnt wanna fit all the way. Then I dropped one of the other bolts into the engine abyss 😅, couldnt for the life of me find it, luckily I work beside a bodyshop and they had an extra bolt the exact size! But started up right away and check engine light went away just as I was hoping (cylinder 2 misfire).
Thanks again for this aweome tutorial my dude!!
that's fantastic news! good job and thanks for the tremendous feedback!
@@THEDriverMod_ Can I ask your opinion on something? So check engine light came on again today. Went and got the code checked and it was cylinder 2 misfire again. Erased the code and drove home with no problems. Could this be something more? I just find it odd since the code went away on its own once I changed the spark plugs...
@@grimreefer42083 could be a coil pack starting to fail
@@THEDriverMod_ thanks, I'll look into that!
Does anyone worry about the bolt lost into the engine area? The engine does have some rotating parts. Hopefully, it will fall to the ground vs. getting caught
Great video but I was just wondering why you wouldn’t blow off all the dust and debris prior to pulling out the coil?
Because I really didn't have much of anything debris wise
Hi Very helpful, Do the motorcraft 550 plugs come pregapped or do I have to gap them? If so what is the gap? Thanks
I installed these right out of the box. You can probably Google what the gap should be
This is the old ecoboost 2.0, in the latest model you have to remove the high pressure pump in order to access to the spark plug of the 4rd cylinder.
I don’t have a torque ranch so I’d guesstimate about hand tight
Gonna do these today, but I brought home a little bag of “lubricant” I’m assuming it is that I was told I needed to put on the spark plugs, am I not supposed to?
not needed
Do you perform this service with a cold engine or warm engine?
Warm is ideal but cold is fine
Hey did your spark plugs already come pregapped?
They were but always check them to be sure
Where do you find the torque rating for the spark plugs?
Normally on the box or google
@@THEDriverMod_ how do I find the factory spark plug torque settings? I looked everywhere on Google I even tried the owners manual. ?
Good job thks
Thank you
would the process be different on a 1.5 L ?
Yes
@@THEDriverMod_ found a video, the coils look so weird in the 1.5s!
@@camashaftsjourney4072 indeed, awkwardly shaped for sure
How often do we change our spark plugs?
On a new 2020 ford fusion that is
If I didn't state it in the video, I personally recommend doing them every 50-60k. These are turbocharged, direct injection engines. With how easy it is to do yourself, this sort of maintenance schedule is not hard to do
The SP-550 is not showing as fitting a 2015 FUsion Titanium with the 2.0L ecoboost. Do they have a new part number now?
I do not, you can probably just call the dealership and they will be able to tell you
My manual says SP-537. Would that be far off the one you are using?
what is the gap measerument on the spark plugs for that 2.0 ecoboost?
Did you find out?
@@ariass9345 .30 i got it from the workshop manual
Good question! This is th e first DIY video that doesn't even talk about checking the gap on the spark plugs.
Most spark plugs are now pregapped. Use the right out of the box.
Where did you buy the spark plugs?
You can get them on Amazon or a Ford dealership
@@THEDriverMod_ Dear, thanks for your reply. The amazon have many seller . Which seller would you recommend me to buy from?
@@rahibsamedov8142 find my on Instagram, thedrivermod_official , I'll send you a link.
@@THEDriverMod_ ı sent you a request
@@rahibsamedov8142 awesome, I'll get you a link this evening!!
Shouldn’t the gap size be .51”?
What ever these came at out of the box is what I ran. I have 186k on the car and not a single problem
Serious question!!! Are you SURE it’s ok to blow all that dirt around without covering the plug holes????
Blow the holes out with the plugs still in so debris doesnt fall into the cylinder when you pull the plugs
Yes, it'll be okay
Thanks for losing the music
Todd video. But, why the annoying music?
🤷♂️🤷♂️
And thats going to be 3h of labor sir
Said who??? 3 hours??? Robbery!
Ford haha
