Yea because most of the ai memes (not the ones with just text, but the full generated images) are based off of already made memes.
AI doesn't try to say anything, it draws from a database to generate content, your brain is doing the work here, filling in what maybe it could say, if it made sense and were made by a person. It's pattern recognition. Both from the AI and from you, but in different ways. Pretty fascinating. Also kinda scary. And definitely cursed.

While some of the best A.I made memes are the ones where is produces incomprehensible nonsense, there's something to be said for the newer ones that can produce something more competent, but are still utter madness. A great one I saw was telling the A.I to re-do the image it just made, but "make it more". It started with "a bowl of spicy ramen" which produced an image of a bowl of ramen loaded with chilli peppers. But after being told to "make it more" it produced an image of a bowl of ramen loaded with an absurd amount of chilli peppers, adrift in the in the void of space, blasting a beam of concentrated flame, while a fire demon emerges from the broth.

Some AI is absolutely horrifying, and some knows everything. Those two aspects overlap much too often.

That's because AI is calculating averages and randomizes said averages a bit.
The more formulaic the language of a meme is, the more likely it will appear intact because of that reason. For the parts of the meme formula that change, the AI averages through a lot of different phrases and the result is an incomprehensible mess.
