I've made a remastered version of Running with the Wolves by Aurora recreating all the instrumental! The movie is available in 5.1 surround sound so you can mute the other audio channels to silence most of the music getting the vocals.

I love how you can sometimes see a faint outline of a sketch. Like take when Robyn is saying "Of course, everybody can." Look at her head.
yes i like that too, its really often in the Movie and as an Hobby-Artist it is really interesting how they places the Help-Lines on the Bodys, especialy the Animals
If you compare the outline of Robyn at the beginning at the movie, with one from the end of the movie, you can notice that her outline slowly became messier, as if to say she slowly became more wild! :D
@Norman I don’t think so. Check the scene were Robin tries to free the mom (wolf) of the other girl. The part where her dad sorta hugs her.

The humans are drawn with clean lines, and the wolves are drawn with wild lines. Also, if you can notice, Robyn’s lines are getting wilder the more time it passes
Another interesting style choice is how they did the background from a weird perspective in a lot of shots

To be fair, it lost to Soul, which was probably one of Pixar's best movies in the last decade. I still think Wolfwalkers was better, but I can be content with Soul winning. Not like I put a lot of stock in Oscar picks anyway-historically, they always miss the mark. Most of the movies they've picked for best picture have been long forgotten, and many of the films they've snubbed have been remembered for generations. So they really don't matter that much.

Okay can we talk about how keeping the guidelines when they're wolves or an emotional scene just brings a whole new life to Animation something we have never seen before and just keeping guidelines and not actually erasing them to show imperfections in such a perfect way is just amazing.
They did this for the first 101 Dalmatians movie but that was due to time constraints, I agree that the guidelines make the art look exremly stylistic and unique :0
I believe they used this as a sort of character development. Where Robyn at the start has solid lines like the rest of the human characters. But once she becomes one with nature her lines "relax"

Yes! I love the style so much. The way the manbuild things are sharp and angular, very simple. While the nature is chaotic and entwined, so beautiful!
Maybe it's just me, but I think i know the feeling. That of being free, out in the forest, running, you never feel tired. So fast yet you feel you could run forever, jump across an entire canyon. You see everything in such detail, notice the smells of rain, tree sap, and grass, along with all the sounds of wind, water, and other animals.

I started crying when the released this movie. I couldn’t believe they actually made another 2D after all the 3D, I was so happy with wolfwalkers.

This scene made me so close to crying, it’s just so well animated and I really want to watch the movie
2D never stopped having the potential. It's just it's easier to animate with computers. Meanwhile, soul of cartoons withers away. People don't want to put effort(time/money) into it anymore.
I'm not a furry or anything...but I have always dreamt I was a wolf, meant to roam the earth. Run on all fours, freely and hunt with my people. To watch this movie and this scene in particular...it brings me great amounts of joy. To this day even as an adult, I still dream. One could say it has to do with superstition or beliefs of some sort...who knows. I'm pretty much just some average person in life, not the type to say "I'm a werewolf" or howl because I'm very quiet and keep to myself haha. But these dreams mean the world to me. To feel so liberated. Nothing like when I'm awake. Not like anything I've felt while conscious.

I know this may sound cringe to many. But when I was a child through to my teens I had dreams like these of being all kinds of animals which inspired and changed me.
It's a very unique emotion that doesn't have any words, and I'm certain there are people that understand that too.

The Oscars don’t care about foreign films at all. They will always award big American companies such as Disney Pixar no matter what. There are so many anime movies that deserve Oscars but don’t get them because the Oscars ignore them.

I didn't really liked soul and personally think wolfwalkers should have won but one time it was clear something was wrong was when Big Hero 6 won in 2014. I don't care if HTTYD 2 or Song of the Sea won but Big Hero 6 did not deserve it.
I love how these two girls needed eachother in their lives and came together in such an unexpected way. Robyn's new sense of freedom and Mebh finally feeling less alone. It all came together so beautifully and you can see the genuine connection

As a D&D player this has always imaged that this is how it feels as a druid when you wildshep into a animal
One thing I noticed that I love about this movie is that the wolf walkers in their wolf forms communicate like real wolves do. Like when Mebh is telling Robyn to close her eyes, her ears are up and her tail is wagging slightly, which is how wolves say they're happy, and when Robyn initially refuses to jump, she's cowering with her tail between her legs, which is how wolves communicate that they're scared.
the Oscars are a joke. How this did not win, and Soul did speaks volumes.

I miss animation like this. Nothing really computerized and fancy, just simple hand drawn masterpieces. And I love the fact that you can see some of the rougher sketches in there too. It makes me appreciate it even more.

You know they actually used CGI at first? They used computers to build the layers and the world around Robyn and Mebh, but then painstakingly hand-drew over the layers to give it that traditional look. I love that they had the technology at hand but decided not to show it off, but only to set up a path and make it easier for the ones that hand-drew over it.

I'm so disappointed not many people love and appreciate 2D animation anymore, especially THIS FILM!! It's so beautiful and I wish more companies did 2D animation.
It's cuz it takes longer and is more expensive, however you are right. It's truly an underrated mastery art

@@beautifulspacesllc You would be surprised, it definitely takes longer, but cg/3d animated movies are definitely more expensive. It's more about the output speed for the big animation companies, and they tend to make lots of money so they're willing to spend more to have more frequent releases. no loss, just lots and lots of gain. But it never has the same mystifying feeling as the 2d films, that's what i think at least.
YESS in 2D animation everything is so beautiful, and you can just focus on the perspective of the characters instead of modeling the whole entire thing in 3D animation when some of the parts don’t even show in the camera. Also 2D animation really gives those old vibes we all love and some miss.

I just watched this movie, it’s currently 2: 30 and I’m watching this instead of sleeping, this is an amazing movie 10/10 would watch again
I'm so glad I'm not the only one this scene brought to tears. My Apple TV free trial expires tomorrow and I managed to squeeze watching this in before I went to work today. Best decision ever. Reminds me of the days during my childhood when I was OBSESSED with wolves. I mean, I still am, but gods, I played WolfQuest, ran a whole forum to roleplay with others as a pack, etc. Even got into Nancy Drew because of the White Wolf of Icicle Creek PC game. So my love of puzzles and escape rooms can all be thanks to my unhinged wolf obsession. Even though it was made in 2020, this tickled my nostalgia bone to the core. Thank you for bringing up such beautiful memories and being such a cute story. If I ever have kids, they will grow up with stuff like this.

@@PotatoSaladMonkey At the theatre where I went they took things *VERY* seriously.
Masks were mandatory everywhere (you were only allowed to take masks off once you were in your seat so you could eat) and you had to book your seats in advance and weren't allowed to sit anywhere that wasn't a designated seat.
If all seats were filled for a showing you had to choose a different time with open seats. They even had whole rows closed for the sake of social distancing and making sure everyone was safe.
Helped that the theatre I went to with my friend was practically empty too which was quite strange for a theatre that was usually super busy.
Few few films have moved me like this one did. I hope one day, even if it's a long time from now, more people will find their way to this masterpiece.

yeah but when you get to be a wolfwalker you lose some liberty too, you are trading being in a society with the comforts of that with being forever stuck in a circle, or even alone, for the rest of your life, imagine this, you are a 25 year old person, you have a great job that you love, you are free to do everything you want with hobbys and such, but one day when you are in the forest because your job is to hunt, a wild wolf shows, you get and arrow on his leg but he doesnt seem that hurt, it seems like he is regenerating, you try to cut his troath to ensure the hunt but you arent that experienced and the wolf bits you, now every night you are a wolf, you cant keep the lie anymore and you have to go, you lost your life and everyone you loved, what if i told the ones that i trust ? well most surelly you will get killed, nobody likes to see a wolf in their house, and even if you did they would not be able to do anything, you are stuck there forever, alone, and if you want your family to follow you then they are losing their lifes too, just because of you and your poor fate.

a few years back, i had just gotten out of a toxic relationship that had been nothing but manipulation and abuse. i was having a full on breakdown, inconsolable. when i calmed a little bit, i found this movie. i watched it all the way through and wow, did it help me. it’s been my favorite movie ever since and i’ve always felt a strong connection with it.
This video is one of the few things that got me through the pandemic, the pandemic was a really hard and scary time to live through, but something about this video just helped ground me. Even today, I still watch it every now and then if I’m stressed, or overwhelmed, forever a part of my childhood ❤❤ just wanted to stop by all these years later just to say thank you :’)

@@osheridan that movie is going to be 21 years old this coming May and it’s still a gem of a movie in my opinion! The REAL Spirit, named Donner, that inspired the character, is gonna turn 28 that same month and me, 27! I feel so lucky to be born in a great month like May!

ironiclly they seem to be free but now that they are wolfwakers they are trapped as such, they cant have a normal life as they cant hide it forever, they may be trapped in the woods, maybe they will addapt, or die, both work
I just love this scene. It's so powerful and gives me the feeling of how it feels to be free and frolicking with your best friend in fantasy land. Away from all your worries at home/work/school and just living your best life without caring what others think.
The music, animation, and characters all go so well together. I find myself coming back to rewatch this and there's nothing about this movie I don't love.

@Water Horse_HTTYD maybe not a sequel but just another movie with a different story and different characters in the same style. I believe that the same studio who made this movie made 3 (or more) other GREAT movies in a similar style that I really recommend

I’m a wolf therian and this is literally perfect. The art, music, and everything. I love this remaster, it makes it sound so much more lively. It echos more than the movie, sounding more Forrest life. I can’t describe how much I love this movie and remaster.

When I first saw this movie years ago, I had no clue what therianthropy was. I always have had a fascination with animals and wolves in particular, and I loved this movie the first time I saw it.
Recently, I discovered that therianthropy existed. It made everything pretty clear, and helped me understand why I love wolves so much. I'm one myself! Coming back to this and finally understanding why it was so special to me is cathartic.
I'm so glad this movie exists.

Unpopular Opinion but Soul was honestly disappointing for me. Wolfwalkers on the other end is praiseworthy and has earned my respect
@Peachy :3 Yes! I love that you agree with me, but hold a moment right there... Pixar USE to be very good a long time ago! Especially from 1995 to 2010 era when they were at the top of their game! While they're a great studio, Cartoon Saloon has earned my respect for now! Wolfwalkers was amazing!

Totally hit's you like a brick, the contrast between their freedom as wolves and their servitude as girls in an oppressive society where women and children are seen and not heard. There was no need to read any extra layers into this, just the surface level story telling is so impactful.

We all know "Oscars" hasn't learned what "best" means when after not awarding Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron, Treasure Planet and Brother Bear in their time, they didn't award this either (along with many other Cartoon Saloon movies). This was just unfair.
I get what you're saying, but c'mon. Spirit and Brother Bear are not the 'best' animated movies. They're good, but not masterpieces.

Which is a beautiful Japanese film about a deaf girl and her bully from grade school meeting up after certain circumstances and dealing with a multitude of issues. If you haven’t seen it you must i still can’t believe it lost to freaking Boss Baby???

Cartoon Saloon is legendary with this movie and Song of the Sea. The animation, characters and music are gorgeous. They're going to win their Academy Award. If Spider-Verse can break new ground in animation then so can this one.

I mean...this is a much more recent movie, telling a completely different story with a completely different artstyle. The really only comparable thing in common is that both have wolves. These can't even talk to humans in their wolf form. In my opinion, the first A&O movie was enjoyable enough.
Alpha & Omega was pretty good. It had prettier designs. But Wolfwalkers had amazing story and music. No way it could ever compete with Wolfwalkers

I hate the fact this movie didn't become more popular! Its a real look into irish history,with a twist,truely beautiful. (im irish)
I hope it gets more popular. I love wolves, so the movie caught my interest of course. However, I also love the Irish culture in the movie, all these influences you can see in the artwork as well. My family is originally from County Clare, at least that's as far back as my great grandmother knew. I think it was her great great grandfather who immigrated. I'd love to visit someday, and I want to eventually learn Gaelic. All I can do now is sing a song, and I'm not sure if the words are all right, but it's pretty so I like to sing it lol.
I was watching this with my eye's closed and I had a phantom shift! I felt paws on my hands! It was a good experience.
