  • Teaching your horse clean and correct maneuvers starts with knowing how to get control of his body & feet.
Understanding the difference between bending and turning is one very important component in teaching a variety of exercises, and in this video Sid brings up some great points in how and when to use the turn vs. the bend.

“good luck trying to get one to spin using the bit.” 😂 something i’ve learned to be very true.

I’ve actually practiced both of these exercises, but didn’t actually know what I was doing , I couldn’t explain to you what I was doing , but you could feel the complete different in each, and how the horse rode after this exercise to teach him.

That's great! Being able to feel the difference is the most important part. Now you've got a name for each move 😉

Hello! So I recently purchased a 15y/o TWH mare. She is a great horse, but she lacks quite a bit when it comes to ground work. She either walks out way ahead of me when I lead her, or she’s next to me, but is practically running me over with how close she gets. What can I do to fix this? The barn I board at unfortunately does not have a round pen. I’ve been trying to work on it but I feel like we’ve made little progress.
