This is actually a great demonstration of why a dyson sphere is inherently unstable (as opposed to a dyson swarm for example). The only points on the sphere that are in a stable orbit are the points along the equator.
You have the patience of a saint
Lol thanks but i didn't stare at it the whole time. I just let it sit with itself and changed the angle every once and a while.
Dude, that's awesome looking! I never managed to get my sails to look that *clean,* they're almost like transparent sheets!
also a hint: press F11 twice to hide the UI so you don't have to crop around it. ; )
Hey thanks I'm glad you liked it! and I always wondered if i could do that! Thanks for the tip!
how much computation time was this?! 💀
Edit: i didn't pay attention. An hour for 5 minutes. Still blows me away with the efficiency.
Well thanks!
Oh, i wanted to ask in your previous time lapse how you did the solar mirror thing. So you just delete the actual Dyson sphere structure?
yes exactly!
Now that looks pretty
I'm glad you like it thanks!
This looks like the Dysons sphere a futuristic civilization of fairies would make. It looks really good
thank you!
love it :D.
Thank you!
wow
Pwiddyyyyyyyyyy!
insane
Thanks!
wow cool
Thank you!
how large is each solar sail meant to be, and how many are represented in this video also, how long is this time lapse covering?
he mentioned the latter, over an hour apparently

It was about an hour and a half of in game time. and im not sure what the dimensions of the sails are but i think there was 15 million or so that went into it.
