  • The civilian staff of the Ministry of Defence under the umbrella of the Joint Executive Council, have shut down the headquarters of the ministry in Abuja over alleged brutalisation of their members by soldiers.
The President of the Council, Didam Joel, said a civilian staff of the ministry has been under detention for a month by military authorities, even though he is not a military personnel.
Joel added that an assistant director of the ministry working at Command Secondary School, Ojo, in Lagos, was equally brutalised yesterday without recourse to civil service rules.

A Level 15 Officer brutalized by Soldiers under the supervision and ORDER of a Lt. The Civilian Staff is a Deputy Director ooooo. If that Lt is NOT a DSSC officer I believe the Civilian Staff is old enough to be his father. This rubbish MUST stop. Enough is enough

It's only in Nigeria that the military refer to civilians as bloody people. This shows how backward we are as a nation. If not, how come soldiers could muster that authority to detain a civilian and the civilian head is sitting docile in an air conditioned room without a formal intervention. They all must be suffering from military mentality.

Why is it that soldiers kept brutalizing civilians, what is the problem? Military should kindly leave civilians alone, it's becoming too much for the military. The military was meant to protect the civilian's while they are being taken care of by civilians tax payers money. What the hell is the meaning of bloody civilians? This should be taken care of before it gets out of hand.

The military should see the civilians working with them as partners in progress and not as their punching bags, they both need each other for good delivery of services. God bless Nigeria 🇳🇬

Very unfortunate incident. A level 15 officer is about the rank of a Col or Brig Gen! A deputy director. Cmoon, and here we have a Lt brutalizing him, more like an entry level officer in civil service.

Delusion. Continue to wait for the blinking of the crab. Obi is excessively overrated. Who told you Nigeria would have peace if Obi was president. As governor doctors in Anambra were on strike under him for 13 months. The states university was closed down for 6 months. Not a single new school or hospital built but he bought new expensive cars for state assembly members, LG chairmen and even market leaders. So you are expecting a paradise under him as president!

It's no wonder the military are treated badly across the nation, when they dont treat others with respect and dignity. What goes around comes around, sooner or later.A Country without the rule of law,no respect for the rule of law.The law of the land most be paramount, obeyed and respected, and above every citizens, military or civilian. That is the only way Nigeria can move forward.

The perceived superiority of the military over the non military is behind this questionable and wicked attitude .
The government that pays them should hold their officers accountable. Then the discipline will go down the ranks.

  • @seteoluisikilulanrelanre2359

This is the worst, an Assistant Director is a level 15 officer.
Before the magomago, a level 15 officer was equivalent to a Brigadier In Army, Naval Commodore, Air Commodore, a Police Commissioner, a Comptroller in Customs, Immigration etc. Around 2002 because they just don't want to be up to them they change the nomenclature hence a fresh NDA graduate was placed on level 10 instead of level 8. Now in the above case, a private is just like a level 1in the core civil service. But look at what he did. I pity the civilian staff in that ministry. They are always treated like slaves. Go to all Command schools the Principals called Commandants are Lt. Col equivalent while the vice principals are always level 16 very junior heading his senior in the name of being civilians.
