No please don't. This is not a safe mermaid tail. The construction is all wrong. You can make your own but please at the very least buy a proper monofin. Safety first! They cost so much for a reason.

Ok, looks good, but why go to all the trouble and detail of the exposed brain, then you positioned the creature so it can't be seen. Also, why is there caution tape around a block of water. Doesn't appear realistic.

Not this one. This one is not a swimmable tail. The "monofin" they made is completely unsafe. You would drown.

Making a mock up with duct tape is common practice when making things that will be exactly the shape of you body. You do not keep it on. You just use it as a sort of form to reference whole making the thing you'll actually wear.
That being said what they've done here is still incredibly unsafe. Just for different reasons.
