Just what we need to see in these unfortunate times where the leaders of OUR NATION perceive these people as low lives when there are millions of African Americans just like these kids who aspire to reach goals that we may tend to take for granted, like going to college, or becoming a successful business owners, but unfortunately, our leaders refuse to believe that.

@@laceylarson13 It is a fact that Affirmative Action benefits white women more than all minorities, since the female gender is classified by the education system and workforces as a diversity loop hole. The fact you believe black people magically get into schools without any extra effort or something that benefits the school, is hilarious. Colleges and universities have been saying they are diverse based on white women attending higher academia for decades. The fact you believe a small percentage of minorities getting in is the majority of diversity shows how little you actually know about how higher education has been operating underneath the diversity label.
As a mother, I am in tears and proud like every last one of these Black Princes and Princesses are my own. So let's continue to fight for equality for them to fulfill their dreams in peace.✊

Okay , I’m sure that after the news organizations started showing up and saw the ridiculousness of the school and how damn ignorant the man sounded, he sounds like he didn’t finish elm school much less college, I’m sure they started asking questions. So perhaps a few got in that way, they probably didn’t last thru their first yr..but these kids in this video didn’t attend that school, so they indeed made the grades. I’m sure that other school isn’t even in business any longer thank god. But thanks for letting me know about it, I had no idea.
I stand corrected it is indeed still in business. They weren’t found to have falsified the records of the ones excepted in to Harvard though.

How about people get into a school on merit, not because there has to be something proved by the color of their skin? Want equal, then equal is what it should be across the board, not special programs to grant people privileges based on race.

@chi this really has nothing to do with merit chi, it has to do with programs based on someone's race, all the while what is going on right now with all of the fighting and looting is all about continuing racial segregation. The scream is for equality, however, equality is not what race implemented systems are about and I am not just speaking about African Americans race. Was hoping to see more kids from less affluent households. I’m sure all these students are excellent scholars, but I feel like it’s important to acknowledge their privilege. Privilege seems to only be associated with white people, but it’s really more applicable to the wealthy. When you have money you have more resources and opportunities. A student from a low income household could only dream of getting into Harvard because they have a significant disadvantage and have to work much harder than many of these wealthier kids in this video. They wouldn’t have money to afford expensive tutors or study material like many of these kids are able to. College initiatives should not simply be trying to increase their ethnic diversity, but rather, they should actively consider the backgrounds of these students and where they come from. There are many bright students that have potential but are overlooked due to the effects of their difficult life circumstances. If they truly want to make a difference they need to look deeper than just skin deep.
T K I clearly acknowledged their achievements at the beginning of my statement and I acknowledge that they all clearly worked hard to get where they are. My critique is regarding the system of college admissions itself. Financial security is definitely not a “perceived advantage,” it is a clear advantage. As I said before, individuals who have financial security have more resources and opportunities. The purpose of having these kind of programs is to represent diversity. However, when you don’t take into consideration the background of students, you are limiting the representation of less fortunate individuals. A rich black child does not go through the same struggles as a poor black child and it’s not fair to compare them on equal playing fields when they have not had equal resources or opportunities. Ignoring this fact only widens economic disparities and prevents bright individuals from getting out of poverty.
