Just bought one. Perfect little bass. The Chinese do make beautifull instruments like my one. Love it.

Got tapewound strings on mine. Perfect mellow.

Great little bass for the money and much more appealing than the more modern looking Shorty it’s replacing.

I've got a "standard" violin bass but I have never really liked the narrow string spacing at the bridge. This Shorty with its P Bass style bridge looks to have much wider string spacing so that makes me very interested.

Is this a (semi)hollow body like the original or is it a solid body?

What size strings does it take if I want to use flat wounds

Hello, Can you tell me if the bass has neck dive when using a strap?

It does, but I haven’t really noticed when I play

Isn't basswood pronounced the same as bass wood?

    Ö. It's ö. 😀
Sounds quite muddy to me, even for a violin bass...

A very Plummy review. Thanks you!

Very poor review. You said short scale several times, you could have specified exactly what the scale is; 30", 32" etc. Also would have helped to give specs of nut width, neck profile... And how these compared to the standard Hofner Beatle bass. Hollow or chambered body?
Also, what kind of strings does it ship with; flats, rounds, gauges?
All in all a very superficial review lacking crucial details. But thanks anyway, at least we know its 'plumby'.. :/
