I just got my new Pixel 6a after using the 3a.. Your video has helped me a lot to determine how I can use all those extra tips. Your voice is good and not as fast as some other videos. I was able to understand everything ( 70 year old grandmother here) Good job Kevin!
First thing i do on any phone is gboard settings. Its easily the best keyboard for all of its settings. First i add number for, then remove all sticker button be and suggestions, change it to solid black to say battery, then change the height to mid tall, then adjust the suggestion bar buttons and add translate and a few other ones. Ill make a video of it soon.
I finally moved away from my Blackberry Key 2 mobile device to the Google Pixel 6 A this afternoon as my Blackberry started to overheat last week, and the space bar was not working as intended. But, again, I appreciated the video and advice. Thank you!
Same in here.... My BB Key2 is still solid but battery life gives in so I have switched to Pixel 6a so far so good. Miss my physical keyboard tho
@@BaBaR84 I also miss my Blackberry; I had started to use Blackberry back in 2002 and had various models up to the Key2. However, with Blackberry not making any more mobile devices, we had to move on, and my choice, like yours, was the Pixel 6A. I am happy with it, and it has served me well so far.
@@stephenabm7779 yup.... Been using BB since 12+ years ago I had them all.... Priv, Passport, 9700, 9900, Key One, Bold you name it.... Loved how useful and efficient all them phones were - more than just toy/gadget for silly apps etc. They were actually good work tools. Had last hopes with the OnwardMobility but that went to s****t..... Rumors about BB Key3 will be released on 27th October or November.
That Pixel 6a ain't that bad....
@@BaBaR84 I agree but as you said, the promise of manufacturing a new Blackberry never happened. It was a great phone but they dropped the ball in 2012 and let Apple pass them by with technology. I am satisfied with my Pixel; in some ways, it is better with the processing speed and more accessible to accomplish some tasks.
Can't believe I wasn't the only one moving from my beloved Key2. Replaced the keyboard twice and got a good run with it, but on to the 6a. Seems solid.

If you need to change the 3 button navigation to have back button on the right there are apps that will allow you to do that. I have used Moto phones and I like back button on the right so I use a navigation app for it. I never got use to the other way!
You can swap button placement in settings usually for most devices no need for a additional app

still brand new and a bit confused. First: can I switch to fingerprint unlock ONLY? now I have to do both pin and f-print. Why doesn't your tip 'hit power button twice' to turn on cam not work for me?
Nice video Kevin. Thanks. I'm attempting to set up the icon apps. on my home screen. I want the bottom row to be locked with my most used or favorite apps. It's currently set up where the last used app. replaces my preferred apps on the bottom row. How can I make this happen? I've searched high and low and am perplexed. Thanks.
I think I figured it out. You need to Pin the apps in the bottom row. You do this by pressing & holding on the Icon. It gives you the option to Pin.

For all older or non tech ppl: If you are having a hard time keeping up, look for the gear in top right of video. Click it, go down to PLAYBACK SPEED, click that and you can slow down by choosing a setting above normal and speed up by choosing below normal.
3:25 The three button navigation is better for me as it allows an equivalent to alt tab to quickly switch back and forth between two apps, using a double tap on the square. The gestures requires more care in positioning, with the only advantage being possibly freeing up a bit more screen space.
Kevin, Thanks for a great video that isn't too rushed! I 👍 and 🛎. I'm using my old Samsung Galaxy J3 (home wifi) right now because honestly it's sharper than my new Pixel. One thing I don't like about Pixel is the Emo's are all Indian. Every one of them that are reference to skin, clothing, holidays, etc. I'm not saying that's bad, but ppl comment and ask why I'm presenting myself as if I live in India. I know how to hold the button to choose skin colors etc, but when I do none of them are light at all. Honestly, I don't care, just tired of ppl asking me questions.

No
japan camera cannot turn off the shutter sound, other than that i don't think there's any difference.

Open the camera. Click camera icon/down arrow, top left. When menu pops up, click MORE SETTINGS at bottom of box. Then you will see 'camera sounds' slide button. 💖

You have to use another launcher like nova.
I immediately turned off gesture navigation. I hate it personally.
I mailed in the old phone, Google shows they received it on 8/4/22. Google has be reviewing it for the month of August. I have called, emailed, done online chat. I have not received any money.
They tell me many people are having the same problem. Do NOT trade in with Google. Sell the phone yourself.
I have a doozy of a battery saver. When the battery is really low turn off the hole freeking phone. Before there where cell phones people went half the day without using the phone and guess what they lived.
