Jesus, whatsup with the dubstep soundtrack? Does EVERYTHING have to be to the beat of dance music these days? Most people watch off road videos to be somewhat into what the people in the video were doing. Im willing to bet they werent listing to boots and pants music while crossing the creek.
This does help a little bit, it helps keep water out of the engine bay while moving towards the current or when just moving in general but when you stop it does not help anymore
And you probably shouldn't keep it on for long. Blocking the grille results in no air passing through the radiator, (even with the radiator fans on) making the vehicle overheat.
ray mcknight Well, I thanked Toyota for my own car if you don't mind...... Then, Okay, I Thank Nissan for the Patrol model.... The rest of them are not serious competitors !!!
Some friends told me that during a "serious" water crossing like those on this video is advisable to lower the windows and unhook the seat belt for exit in case of sink. Is this correct?
That takes some balls. I am too chicken to do this. I am surprised it didn't flip over...ops...never mind...I had xterra but never offroad it seriously. Good thing, I sold it and purchased civic si. Good on gas, I like my civic si...ha.ha.
+Bean I know that, but I mean the original video to the one where he tries to cross the flooded Road and he gets swept off... Hopefully he got out of that.
Wow. Some major stupidity. Why you may ask? Vehicles are built for this kind of activity. Should have lots of equipment installed before remotely thinking about these stunts. Just a few not complete by any means--intake and exhaust raised to upper levels of the vehicle, aggressive tires, weight to keep vehicle from floating so quick. Please people watching this do not think this means you will be ok to drive through flooded areas!!!
Not sure why people have this attraction to take their cars for a swim. It's like they seem to feel they then belong to a special status when they have done it. Wrecks your interior and you truck and these aren't brave but just dumb.
Man I was clenched during that first crossing, I would never try and cross water moving that fast, NO FUCKING WAY.
That's the first Range Rover I've seen doing what it was built for!
Have seen plenty on tilt trays! Is that not what they were built for?? :)
when that water rolls over the bonnet and hits your windscreen that gets the heart pumping.
Turn the volume down folks!

If you don't like the music then mute your speakers
Thanks patrolfreak1
I would
Same, I would rather listen to the engines.
Snorkel!?! Who needs one.... if you have a tarp and bungees! LOL!!!
Oh soo that's how I'm supposed to clean my ARB bumper..
The tarp over the hood is a new one for me.
yeah I'm not sure if that actually does anything
This does help a little bit, it helps keep water out of the engine bay while moving towards the current or when just moving in general but when you stop it does not help anymore
Oh, well that makes sense. Not really a long term solution though. :)
AxialSCXten CrawlCA i was the same then i seen that the car didnt have a snorkel, explains everything

man. i was scared for the guy going over the washed out bridge. I wonder how that turned out.
How many weeks did the RR spend in a dealership after that crossing?
Probably an eternity to get the " Lord of Darkness " working again. Seems that some folks who drive 4x4s have a death wish.
I'm guessing the heavier the truck with strong currents the better. As long as the bottom isn't to soft.
I like this Video, greetings from Germany! nole-adventure
3:40 Wtf O_O

Some friends told me that during a "serious" water crossing like those on this video is advisable to lower the windows and unhook the seat belt for exit in case of sink.
Is this correct?
that is correct
it allows a quick exit from the car if things do go bad
Thank's you for the answer and for your excellent video.
It's good to have a boat or dinghy
That takes some balls. I am too chicken to do this. I am surprised it didn't flip over...ops...never mind...I had xterra but never offroad it seriously. Good thing, I sold it and purchased civic si. Good on gas, I like my civic si...ha.ha.
Typical Aussie Style Water Crossing
Yes they are are hairy
Why would you attempt this in a stock vehicle?
What is everyone's obsession with driving in the water? That is was BOATS are for!.
Love the Content
This is how you end up on LiveLeak with a more somber tone.

If one goes looking for trouble, you will usually find it.
