On this channel we like to do a lot of dogfighting most videos are some sort of dogfight between 2 different aircraft as we explore their different capabilities. From time to time I like to dabble in Virtual Reality, I think VR is a great new technology and I love to show that stuff off for the channel from time to time.
If you prefer more up close and personal dogfights consider the IL-2 Sturmovik: Great Battle series and experience intense WWII aerial combat over famous battlefields such as Stalingrad, Moscow, Rhineland and Normandy. Fight in and against Russian, American, German, British warbirds such as the P-51 Mustang, P-47 Thunderbolt, Bf-109, FW-190, Spitfire, Hurricane and rugged IL-2 Sturmovik attack plane. As always guys please remember these are simply mods, the gripen to be fair as had an actual gripen pilot assist in getting a somewhat accurate flight model for the mod, but at the end of the day these are just mods and don't represent the true capabilities of these aircraft its just the best we have right now for aircraft that are otherwise classified to a degree.

10 years ago i had the opportunity to see 2 gripen rate-fighting over me. Was super loud with the afterburners and them going around in circles. Might have been some other training. Still good memories.

As a Brazilian I feel very proud to see the Brazil Navy paint scheme. By the way last week the Brazilian Air Force received the first 4 Gripen E's, the most modern version with more thrust, more fuel, and the beautiful Wide Area Display (WAD). Surely a stronger opponent vs the Eurofighter, it would save you some time to get the kills. 😁

@@vandecasa3795 Air Forces monthly a long time ago featured a small coverage of Eurofighter vs F-22 during their first trip to the US.
The comment was that it was hard for them to engage the F-22 in BVR, doable in some instances, but the merge however the Eurofighter was very capable and they did make the Raptors work for it.

I wanted also to refer to the F-22 and SU-57 that GS has also been matching with the Eurofighter, Gripen and Rafaele.
You illustrate so well that given two different and relatively comparable aircraft, it all comes down to pilot skill. You fought a real Rafale pilot, how about a real Euro Fighter pilot.

The Gripen is impressive
I would really love to see you and Longshot do a penetration mission against Flankers in Panthers (Su-27 vs F-35) with attacking a SAM or other protected target.
In case it hasn't hit you yet, any DCS high altitude merge dogfights you've done thus far, whether it was fox 2s or guns only, you can go ahead and do them again in low altitude starts, and I think most of us would gladly watch them all. ❤ Just saying, more great content for us, and plenty of "job security" for you for a good while.

Can’t wait for the official EF module . I think it will change the dynamics of 1 v 1 dogfights. Also hoping ED finally gets around to fixing the F16 snap to HUD “G” issue so we can have something to challenge the EF.
no not really, the real life EF is not a good jet at all, so don't think it will do anything spectacular. these videos aren't that good to measure how good the jets are as the Gripen module is obviously underperforming, and the the Eurofighter module is overperforming

It is extremely underperforming in DCS compared to other airplanes.
The EF has shot down several F22s in a dogfight scenario during red flag.
@@ProudOne Which is absolute non-sense. The Eurofighter is probably the best 4.5th gen fighter there is. In numerous dogfights it has beaten the F-22, although it’s BVR capabilities would be worse since it’s less stealthy. The IRIS-T missile are the best short-range missile you could get and can even hit planes tailing the Eurofighter and can be used as to shoot down other missiles.
@@PalatschinkenPro the Eurofoghter the same jet that in a training lost to a Gripen without even knowing it lost? That’s right… a Gripen got up undetected on a rurofoghter in a training session. And no… the Eurofighter has not killed any F22’s, at least not that I can think of. And it is the worst jet nato has.

You should try DCS, its free, comes with two free aircrafts and you can try out every plane free for two weeks each when ever you want.

That was a hard fought fight. The Eurofighter prob should've taken the hint that he was free to extend and get into better fox-2 position on you after you ran out of your own missiles.

Great flying GS and its really clear from here that a pilot who understands his aircraft well will dominate even if the opposing aircraft has a bit of advantage in performance. I think the Eurofighter two engines and larger wing area is the main advantage it has against the Gripen, it can dominate on turning fights. I stumbled onto your videos a few days ago, and find them fun, and entertaining. I was an AQ, Phantom Phixer, and a Tomcat fixer, as well. I've always wondered if a James Bond FOD deployment might be a possible defense. You know; about a hundred pounds of lava dust in their intakes? Maybe a few bolts an screws too.

Another great video. I see the euro fighter all the time on my way to ingoldmells as it takes me right by RAF conningsby in Lincolnshire and it is a pretty machine but I do miss seeing the low level stunningly delicious tornado f3 flying out to sea low and fast.

As I’m sure your aware the f14 has to be the most beautiful plane ever created, maybe the spitfire up there with it but the tornado sure comes close. I think the typhoon is the first branch down the ugly tree till you get to f35 f22 and that new Russian one. Forgot what that ones called. The hornet again is a little stunner isn’t it. 👍

The Swiss air force has opted to choose the F35 as their next gen fighter. This to the great discontent of many in Switzerland, who believe the French Rafale or Eurofighter would have been a better pick for the high alpine mountains and supposed better maneuverability. What is the need for a stealth aircraft for a country that is mostly Neutral and surrounded by allies?
The Swiss officials are adamant that the F35 can hold its own vs a dogfight in the mountains against both the Eurofighter and Rafale.

maybe F35 is better at 2 circle....but the Rafale/EF is definitely better at 1 circle given their delta canard and probably better in the vertical given their 2 engines
You talking about rate-fights and comments and all that, reminds me of the fight between the F-16C (You) against an F-14 Tomcat. I have no idea what kinda 3d spatial black magic voodoo you did in that fight but some how going vertical and doing a barrel-roll placed the pursuing (and winning) F-14 right in your gun sight...I watched it 3 times now and I still don't understand what you did and how it worked! xD

People that dont like rate fights are the same people that boo when UFC fighters are fighting on the ground. They dont understand what the people are actually doing.

Just a question I want a know how a no trust vectoring like typhoon and a 2 D trust vectoring f22 can outperform a 3D trust vectoring su 30 or su 35 ??
Better flight control systems and aerodynamics of the jets. Then the pilots too obviously. Also the Typhoon is massively unstable, which is good for maneuverability. Then you the canards and amazing thrust to weight ratio too. Typhoon can sustain a 9g turn indefinitely at any altitude and not lose energy due to its thrust/weight (as per Typhoon pilots). It's climb rate is one of, if not, the best of any in service fighter at 65,000 ft/minute also.
From what I could gather I’d assume the Grippen to have better AoA or at least better general aerodynamic characteristics due to the canard being closer to the wing than the EF, bigger canards in general, and more of a lifting body than the EF aswell.
That EF-2000 in the last round scrubbed out. Once he thought he had Fox-2 superiority over GS, he was always angling for that Fox-2 shot and forgot to dogfight the Gripen. Given that he wins the two-circle and appeared to be superior in the one-circle, if he'd just picked a strategy and continued to fight like it was guns only, either an actually worthwhile Fox-2 shot would have presented itself, or he'd get guns on GS and thus would've gotten the win.
Its amazing to see you beating the eurofighter even tho its better performing ingame. I do heard the eurofighter was overperforming? I do not know if thats correct but I heard some people say that. Great battle, keep up your great content.
The module is developed in cooperation with real EF pilots if I'm not mistaken so I'd guess that it is farely accurate
