I recently found this song on Spotify. And I have to admit something. This is how I grew up. My dad was hard on me, never believed I would make it to where I am now. My mother, bless her heart, always believed in me. But even though i had someone backing me, I felt alone. That is, until I found comfort in the loneliness and darkness that surrounded me. I guess what I'm getting at is, you're never truly alone, and you will always find comfort in someone or something.

This is a terrifyingly accurate representation of every stage of my life thus far. My life took a turn for the worse when I was 12 due to bullying and feeling like I didn't fit in, and I gained ~130 pounds. I started hanging out with the wrong crowd and felt like shit every day. I ended up leaving that school not too long after that and enrolling in online school, which completely flipped things around for me. In the past few years I've been trying to turn things around; I've started lifting weights, lost 80 pounds, and I have an interview with M.I.T next week!

This isn't what I normally do but I just need to talk about how insanely amazing this song is. I doubt anyone will really see this and honestly I couldn't care less, I just need to gush about this song. I discovered it on Spotify a week or two ago and have been listening to it on repeat since. The lyrics are deep, full of meaning, layer upon layer upon layer of hurt and growth and everything in between. And I need to talk about the best drops- when I first heard this song they literally gave me chills. The quality of this song puts it above everything else, the music is impeccable and draws you in, the lyrics tell a story, and your voice is magnificent. If you see this, Nico, which I doubt you will, continue making music like this. You have a great future ahead and if this is what you want to do then stick to it. And honestly, I can see how your life is relatable to mine. Mine is not as bad as yours, but it is similar. And, in my opinion, your songs are not like the others today. It's in fact somewhat relatable to (forgive me if this is rude) to the old days of the 20th century. And, as most of us knows, those ones are considered better than today's odd things. damn, this song just hits me in the feels cause my dad has asked me why I never try and he doesn't understand that I know where I want my life to go, I wanna tell him he's wrong about what he thinks of me, I want him to know that I have a plan laid out, that I know what I need to do, but I'm too scared to tell him because I don't want him to see me as a failure, he wants me to go to college and he expects me to be like my older brother, I want to go to a trade school for welding and metal works, well I'm gonna stop that there, thank you to everyone who reads this and have a wonderful month.
I think that if a father or mother loves you, they would not even force you to choose a career, or they would call you failure, or think that you are one. I'm not saying they don't appreciate you, try to make your father understand what you are really passionate about.
