Not true at all. I can say for sure in Amazon, you own the entire product that you build. It will provide you opportunities to learn a lot. And most definitely you will be building products from scratch. I myself have worked in many services owned it completely from design high level, low level and then implemented it from scratch. So I would say, let's not generalize things. At amazon you will surely learn a lot. Probably the most among any other companies out there.

Yes TE is a different job family at Google than SWEs so paid out differently. I will try and get that information as well. It actually depends on exactly when you join. It can be after 1 year or after 2 years.
Sir I had one confusion regarding RSUs, not only Google but for all the product based companies. I wanted to know that what happens to the RSUs of the subsequent years. For example, a fresher joining Adobe gets around 39 LPA CTC and the majority of which is covered in the RSU which is spread across the next four years. Now, if he/she has completed his first year, then will he/she be given the another share of the RSU in his second year in the company or the RSUs are only given one time?? Or is that the case that once the RSUs mature after four years, they are then given the RSUs again? OR every year they are given the RSU worth 20-25 lakhs.

This is for L3 Software engineer If you are getting less, then google is low balling you. You should negotiate. This offer is the standard offer that they roll out to people from college/off campus freshers or people with less than 1 yoe.

Dada I want to know one thing that most of the salary is in the form of stocks. So when we are allowed to cash out the stocks can we sell all the stocks that we are permitted to sell in that particular year? another thing this is the value of the stocks depends on the value of one of Google's share price at the time we are joining right....When the time comes for us to sell, if Google's share price falls, we can sell it at the current value or at the time of joining?
It is very much dependent on your current compensation and the band. So folks who are at the lower ends of the band will generally get more hike of the amount of 20%, on the other hand folks at the higher end of the band will be getting lesser hike like around 5%. And for promotion, your compensation generally goes and becomes the lower end of the next band.
And engineers at many companies earn much more than 1 lakh per konth in india at less than 5 years of experience. More like in some they can ear more than 3 lakhs per month after taxes as well

You need to see that years of experience. That what I said engineers with 2 3 years of experience are also earning more than 3 lakhs per month after deducting taxes in several companies. Compensation will depend from one company to another.
It depends on the capability of the engineer and the company where that person is. I have seen someone reach SDE 3 at 4 4.5 years of experience. Bjt in general it is more around 6 to 7 years of experince. But it all depends.
No your cousin brother got an SE3 job at Google which maps to SDE 2 else where. At Google freshers get SE 2. That is there internal leveling. Please look into what they use internally first for each of the levels đ

To get Machine Learning Engineer some of it is considered as Software Engineering with Machine Learning. Do you feel Master's is required for this role? Or relevant work exp is enough?
Most of the product tech companies that are well established consider master degree to be the minimum criteria. I have seen one person in Amazon as a scientist with btech from IIT, and a lot of relevant experience. Some of the startups might be work ex.

Glasdoor has very old information. As they donot purge older data. All the figures I have got from Google employee. Google internally maintains a document which contains the salary details of each level.

It depends on your joining date and will be mostly given in the next appraisal or next to next appraisal. Yes the performance based stock refresher is given such that it is divided by 4 and given to you in the next 4 years. Therr is a performance multipliwr and based on your rating you can get more or less. 50K usd is for meets exoectations

It is not SDE3. In Google internally it is one level up. So freshers get a role of SE 2 (L3) Which is nothing but SDE 1 elsewhere. Similarly one level up will get SE 3(L4) which is nothing but SDE 2 elsewhere. In Google internally levels start from L3 and go up. These are nomenclature that a company uses. Similar thing happens in walmart.

To get Machine Learning Engineer some of it is considered as Software Engineering with Machine Learning. Do you feel Master's is required for this role? Or relevant work exp is enough?
Most of the product tech companies that are well established consider master degree to be the minimum criteria. I have seen one person in Amazon as a scientist with btech from IIT, and a lot of relevant experience.

As they donot purge older data.
All the figures I have got from Google employee. Google internally maintains a document which contains the salary details of each level.
Now, people with 3 years of experience are getting 50 LPA in hand pre tax salary in a year.

It depends on your joining date and will be mostly given in the next appraisal or next to next appraisal.
Yes the performance based stock refresher is given such that it is divided by 4 and given to you in the next 4 years.
Therr is a performance multipliwr and based on your rating you can get more or less. 50K usd is for meets exoectations

Yes that is correct. Refershers are given such that after 4 years, your compensation is not affected much because the new hire stock grant will get over

This is not the fresher salary but the overall sde 1 band. This is taken from the internal salary sheet that google maintains and is not wrong.
What you are saying is that of a fresher. But mind you there are several people with 5 Years of experience working as an SDE 1 there.

I have seen people with 3years of work ec and getting offer or working as an SDE3 at Google? How does that work? People from 2019batch have been working as SDE3 in Google
It is not SDE3.
In Google internally it is one level up.
So freshers get a role of SE 2 (L3)
Which is nothing but SDE 1 elsewhere.
Similarly one level up will get SE 3(L4) which is nothing but SDE 2 elsewhere.
In Google internally levels start from L3 and go up.
These are nomenclature that a company uses. Similar thing happens in walmart.

I thought they might be really very hardworking and talent in softwares development đ. But they really are hardworking & talented bcoz getting job in google is obviously not that easy.
@@karanthakkar9009 that is true. But irrespective of that, getting to actual SDE 3 at 3 YOE is next to impossible. I have seen only 1 guy to be promoted to SDE 3 in that time frame at Amazon across all the offices.
