I shall believe (cover)

I recorded Sheryl Crows song "I shall believe" in Stenkvista church in Eskilstuna! 😇
The sound quality is not too good.. hopefully you can enjoy it anyway😜
I have always liked Sheryl Crows style, in the way she did things her own way despite rejection and obstacles from the "music business" along the way as for all artists I guess. After reading her interviews she seems to have had her share of suffering and pain underneath that great success as an artist and songwriter - again, as many artists I can imagine.
I remember I sat one day at my lunch hour at work many years ago and saw her live session in the studio and her song "Easy" she recorded back then and I really thought to myself "this is what I want to do too" and "I think I can do this". I really liked the sound and feeling to it; with the drums, electric guitars, her singing etc. It was one of those moments I felt something "clicked" inside of my mind, like as if I could see myself doing what she has done - in my own way.
The song
I really believe that the pain and the suffering we experience, in different shapes and forms, force us to go deeper in ourselves, it helps us to think about existential questions like in this song I think. I really like the common human feeling and message in it in the way she almost tries to convince herself that she ”shall believe” that it will turn out fine even though it ”seems like everytime I try to make it right it all comes down on me”… And the pain in the phrase: ”seems like everything ain´t gonna be the way you think it ought to be”..
Feels like a very simple yet existential song. I can recognize my own doubts as conveyed in this song; how she wishes it to be true; ”even if it´s a lie, say it will be alright”…
And the torn jeans was highly symbolic I think. Also, It was very special to sing this song in church like this.
