in Kärnten ist es leider oft warm - das hängt damit zusammen, dass viele dort schwul sind. Durch die Wärme schmilzt oft der Schnee.....auch sind die Liftler dort generell von der warmen Seite....

I dont undersdand whay are you making sloaps, or piste after skiing if snow is fallen at night, whay are you not making pisten in the early morning to remove falling snow, hupsers are so big already at 11 in morning, hard to ski than and tickets are so expensive.? If nightis clear ok, but if its snowing then is very hard ti ski next day, already in the morning!

@81buba normally you need the cold temperature during the night to give the groomed slopes a good rest so that they last as long as possible. if there's snowfall during the night most ski resorts have a second shift grooming in the early morning hours. however that might not work out every single time due to limitations in staff, profitability etc. each grooming session costs a couple of thousands so especially in times with less guests they cannot groom a second time.

      You're right!....you "don't understand" a thing about grooming....
In most jurisdictions ski area operators do not allow machines on their slopes while the lifts are running/carrying skiers. Their insurance companies INSIST on that !!.....So grooming starts in the late afternoon with a shift change around midnight. The work of these 2 crews can differ night to night depending on the weather forecast. If snow is reliably forcasted the LAST runs that will be groomed will be all the beginner/novice runs... for skiers who are less likely to be able to handle loose/powder snow. If it is clear and no snow forcasted the highest traffic and steepest slopes will be done as early as possible so that they have a chance to "set-up" for longer before opening and last longer/stay flatter longer for the upcoming day.
Grooming/packing new snow just before opening on the slope pictured would not only be useless (the bumps would be back in an hour or two) but would be counter productive: machines in new snow drag a lot of it downhill with them...if it's going to snow, better groom the bumps flat earlier...let the now fall and let people enjoy skiing a little new snow sitting on a flat surface.
