- Cypher has some buffs in the latest version of VALORANT.
His trapwire will now stun twice as fast (from 3 seconds down to 1.5 seconds), and now the trapwire won't get destroyed simply from walking through it, you will need to deal damage to break it.

Also means the trap reveals the enemy for a shorter duration and that they can go through your trap without breaking it
It’s unlikely the trip doesn’t break after the first unless the team has poor scaling. The thing it impacts the most is util like drones/dog/boombot not being able to break it. It’s actually insane in that sense.

What’s cool about the new trips is they become a lot more recycleable-say an enemy triggers trip and couldn’t manage to shoot it in time. You can then take back the trip and put it somewhere else or reposition it to catch more enemies off guard. It also makes super low and weird trips a lot deadlier since they now force the enemy to destroy them lest they eat it again later on
I think the idea behind the buff is to make it so that utility doesn't break the trips anymore so you actually have to shoot the trip after your utility finds it n

The strat currently is you set one before round start and keep one. If enemy pushes your site, you throw the second one. If not you keep it with you when you rotate. Good luck!

Cypher's traps are in a weird place where if you peak before they get stunned, they'll just one tap you, but if you do wait, they'll break it, his traps were super dependent on his cages and now they have more use, like really, when have you EVER been stunned by a trapwire?

I play cypher a lot and this buff is huge. Not only do you now have more stopping power with that faster stun, you can now easily shoot them through a smoke and have the wire reset almost instantly. Drones and other walking util not destroying the wires is nice but on maps like haven and breeze where its difficult to shoot the wire before hitting it this will make a huge difference in when cyphers need to back outor stay longer to play off that wire
This is a great buff if you put the tripwire somewhere that enemies don't expect. But the tripwire still gets destroyed by annoying ulti like Sova Shock Darts or Raze Grenade which is kinda suck.
But now it feels like they have to use utility to get rid of it. Cuz if they just leave it there they're going to get spammed.
That's the point of initiator utility though?
@@abyssmage6979 yes that a good thing. Before you didn't truly have to worry about the tripwire cuz even if you get hit by it. It only means they can see you for a short period of time and your stunned. Now if nobody deals with it it's going to completely destroy a push for a site. It's a good thing to know they have to actually worried about the trips
so does kj util. kinda puts them on an even playing field with how their util interacts with other util. dmg util breaks it all and info gathering util (dog/drone) just tells the other team where the senti shit is.
Raze will still affect cypher though. Cuz her nade breaks the trip base
Im a cypher main and i feel like this is going to make him a MONSTER on defense. Usually a downside to his trips is he coulf only maybe get 2 kills off of the vision they provide, but with this he could potentially trip much more people and kill them, or at least throw them off to make them easier to kill.
As a cypher main really huge tho. Especially on some maps the wire setup at the area enemy can’t shoot it. Like haven for example. might get 1 or 2 kill with it & relocate the wire. Insane buff. Now i want a greater buff that is pick up the cage that been placed after the round start. That gonna be so much great.
The problem is on some maps its really hard to break cypher trips, this buffs it for normal situations but on breeze or sunset, where the coin is behind walls, this kinda strong.
This is a good change, won't make a difference most of the time, but against certain kinds of utility, having the trip come back will be quite useful. I don't think the delay change will make much of a difference, except maybe in low elo.
It's a big nerf to Fade Dog and Prowler and Yoru Clone and Ig Boombot lol. I guess that its a Skye nerf the most but Fade also takes another hit lol

Im assuming a direction they were considering with this change is they wanted the "Scout" abilities to be that, and scout. It is a bigger "nerf" to Skye dog but Fade also takes a hit (though can also be viewed as a buff to Fade vs. Skye since she has two prowlers).
I think the changes to his wire reactivating will be useful like 5% of the time cuz people will still know exactly where your wire is and shoot it out instantly. It just punishes lazy people that run through the wire
HOWEVER. 1.5 seconds is a massive buff. It means players can’t just sit in his wire take the fight then shoot the wire they actually get punished.
This means breaking his trips with like dogs , prowler , drone etc. will no longer possible so enemies need to destroyed it with damage right after the dog hits it before it refreshed.
This is too OP, there is no way that is limitless

This feels super strong tbh. I’m just imagining trying to shoot that cypher trip in the choke when it’s smoked and it’s in a random AF spot is gonna feel annoying for lower elo players.
Then again I think if cypher is going to compete with KJ he needs some love. If deadlock isn’t getting a buff to her trip though then that’s insane.
cypher is arguably worse to deal with than kj though, getting sprayed through his traps by an odin/ares + global util is fucking crazy
@@yourbelovedautumncypher is worse simply because of his ability to kill with his trips and smokes. Kj rarely gets nano kills unless its post plant and now that they increased the range you can see it from its easy to break it before she uses the util. This just makes cypher nerds even more frustrating to play against than before. Which means im probably dumping chamber sadly and playing this annoying git 🤷♂️

Meanwhile cypher has 2 global trips that is impossible to bypass without util, and even then only a certain amount of agents have the utility to bypass it, his smoke is insanely versatile, and even gives info, his ult only needs 6 points and gives very crucial info, idk why ppl need a buff for him tbh

I feel like this buff is going to make my cypher traps much more potent. So far, iron-silver players in my lobbies are already too slow to shoot trips. The stun is gonna be so overpowered as well.
This buff is massive especially for those trips on like ascent A and breeze B where you literally cannot shoot them with atleast kissing them first

It's a dasnerth update at the end, shotgun is nerfed and cypher is buffed.
This is good, it also means that people will be visible for less time when they're in the wire. It was just ridiculous how a single piece of utility could destroy an intire setup. It still can, I mean, Raze still has a nade which can clear an intire site of traps.

I think cypher is slowly getting little bit over powered. He is the only agent who got buffs constantly through out couple monthes already. cyphers trip and cage is already deadly when right person is handling him.

At least at the moment I would disagree with him being overpowered, though I do think he is better than a lot of people seem to give him credit for. Which I think is due to how good KIlljoy is right now.
As long as KJ turret covers 180 degrees automatically but cypher needs to sit on his cam to cover the same area and both of KJs trips are harder to avoid than Cypher's he can never really get over powered.

Love the fact that people argued on the fact that if they buffed his wires again he would have become OP and instead buff his cages to like spot in map the enemy that's inside, they buffed wires again and he's just going to be OP, Jett meta on maps such as ascent is now going to be dead and Raze will be the best option but still needs competence (yes I'm a Cypher main)

This is an assumption, but, calling it now, if they are adding this buff they will also make it so you can't see the outline of the person in the tripwire and these buffs are to compensate for that.
Finallyyyyyy, this is a change I’ve wanted for so long as a cypher main. This means we can now catch more than one person in our trips, and they now represent more than two kills collectively.

Jett was trampled into the ground in the last patch, in this patch they buffed an agent who can stop Jett on any site
This is so busted it hurts, in a good way too, this means that people in ranked with no team coordination can't just randomly get rid of the trap by accidentally walking into it with utility that wasn't meant for it.
For the 100th time this time actually traps that should be unbreakable unless you peek on them because of how they're placed are ACTUALLY unbreakable (besides exploding utility but that is how it should be honestly)

I think that this is a really good change for him. It balances out his util with enemy strategies and still isn't overpowered
Yoru Mains and Cypher Mains both have one thing in common, always getting isane buffs
haven't seen anyone mention this, but i'd imagine that "unbreakable" trips would be extremely good (such as that one on ascent a main), since typically the things breaking them is someone walking through it in my games
There's still sova and other destructive ability that can destroy it.
You could also easily grt a kill with that, someone's on low hp and they panic it might hit them multiple times and kill them, that'd be funnier than any molly kill.

From my POV, I think that faster stun time is worse. Because after the player gets stunned, you wouldn't be able to see him anymore through the cage. And for the way I play Cypher, that's my bread and butter: put a trap in a cringe spot, put a cage on it, wait till they get trapped, pop cage, free kill. But now you'll have to be much faster and have better aim
Cypher imo should be watching flanks anyway, you get so many picks just holding flanks and common pushes. You should never be too far from your util as a sentinel unless you're using it as info gathering.

GOOD. The sentinel class (with a minor exception to KJ NEED buffs, especially with the release of a new duelist like ISO.)
cypher is already an insanely good sentinel tho, he can completely stop a jett from dashing into site and has global util, arguably stronger than kj with the only thing being he just cant kill with his setups
@@yourbelovedautumn Agree with most points minus the Cypher Ult being stronger than KJs ult, that is the strongest ult in game currently as it can just shut down pushes on defense and rotations on attack, buys time for your team and can be good to fake and make the enemy waste ults and util on it.
All Cypher can do is get some info if a push goes wrong for the enemy team, reveal a flanker or check for any rotations. IT's good! Yes, but not stronger than KJ

Think it's a buff and also a nerf, the lower delay means yeah they take the damage faster, but also means they can get out the trip faster (if they ignore it) so balanced
