I have the 6700 model 5.0 cuft version and matching dryer. Night and day difference from a Samsung W/D which sounded like an turbo jet taking off even with the laundry door closed. Dryer drum cracked within 4 years which is known issue. This LG is so quiet, half the time I dont realize it is on and the phone notifications help remind my family when clothes are done.
Honestly, the only thing I'm interested in is reliability. I could care less how many different wash cycles it has, I only use cold/cold. I've had my Maytag Washer for over 20 years (23 I think) and have not had one problem. Love your videos!
Not in my house. Its overly complex. Frequently shuts itself off because of some issue with water or balance. The op has it dead on. Just get a simple washer. Probably next time I will get one of the commercial ones used in laundromats. Easy to repair, lots of parts and people to work on them.@@Boltbacker83
Super comprehensive and informative. Just got this set (electric dryer) for $1498 before taxes, extras and fees. Definitely feel like we made the right choice after watching this video. Thanks!
Your videos are getting better every time and very professional, a lot of information conveyed! Excellent spokesperson represents well! Never thought I would enjoy an appliance video as much as I do yours!
TOO MUCH TO CONSIDER!!! I've been researching front load washers/dryers for almost 1 week now, since our Whirlpool Duet (which I LOVED) would not start and turns out the mother board was fried --- not worth fixing a 12 yr old washer, so I started consider another Whirlpool (couldn't buy anoether Duet b/c they've been discontinued!). Then LG. Then GE (which we have all kitchen appliances GE Profile). But so many pros/cons on each brand. I do not want WiFi (our high end slide in convection/induction range has it and I opted not to activate it, and I'm happy!), prefer NO steam, and NO large detergent dispenser. I had that with the DW and the detergent starts to "gum up" and get nasty after a while. Back to the think-tank, and hopefully have a decision by this afternoon....
I've got the LG WM6700 on order and have a large enough space for it, but I still like the shallower depth of the 5500. My guess is that LG will add automatic dispensing to the slightly smaller machine, making it perfect. Btw, your online description of the WM5500 washer says that it DOES have automatic dispensing.
The 5500 does NOT have auto dispenser , I actually just got this set. It’s manual. And I knew that, auto dispense is another level of complexity, and more stuff that can and will break. It has downsides dispight what’s said above. @@bmorgan99
There is a 4.5 cu ft with the automatic detergent dispenser. WM5700HVA and it’s not that much more (maybe $50 at one point). Don’t have to go to the 6700 at any rate and pay for the extra size just for the dispenser.
I have this set, I really like it, I like the app, I like that my phone tells me the wash is done, I forget to look sometimes. The one knob idea works well. Changing the order and cycle types are simple with the app, removing ones I don’t use reduce clutter and simplify things. and the machine looks simple and sleek without all the writing all over it, really my only complaint is the stupid and rather misleading 10 year warranty sticker on the washer, I removed mine, it looks Much better without it, imo, that sticker was a pain to remove, and it left sticky residue that was very very difficult to remove. The door has a magnetic catch to leave the door ajar slightly to dry out, with a side load this is very important. The turbo 360 gets things fully wet with little water unlike other high efficiency washers, the steam in the dryer has really been useful to me. Bath towel or comforter refresh with the need to fully wash. Saves time and money. Lone my 5500 set.
When this unit to good for second floor. I recently got the Wash Tower, amazing clean and dry job. Unfortunately, It Shook my floor for low ans high spine, also very loud during spine. Im looking to get this one, any recommendations? Thank you for the informational video, helps.
LG is now unreliable. LG used to be a great brand because it "was" reliable. The LG washer dryers break and stop drying clothes, with observable decrease in performance over time meaning they don't wash as well as they do when new and get worse the older they get. I think this is planned obsolescence so don't expect to get more than 3 years out of them. I have two LG front loaders in my house and have experienced problems with both, one is completely broken and flooded my laundry. At over $1000 each, buyer beware.

Do you still like the 6700 washer? Any issues?

Thats interesting because currently LG is literally ranked #1 in reliability (consumer reports) in every single laundry category!
Lg is reliable , but it’s not speed queen level reliable.
Let’s be real. @@Boltbacker83

I agree. I purchased a LG and truly disappointed in the results. I won’t recommend.
Most important feature: reliability

Same. I'm loving the pair so far. Hopefully it holds up!
Where did you get the pair for $1498? I'm looking to purchase this machine but the sale is $899 for the washer only. (5/8/24)
Please review the WM5700 with auto dispense

3:25 You failed to mention the 5500 has smart sync so you don't have to reach the upper controls. The LG app also allows you to access the machine.
All I care about is it not breaking, "features" are mostly useless to me
Most reliable is LG

Just got one. It has a 4 tray dispenser, not ezDispense.

The 5700 is essentially the same as the 5500, but it has auto dispense.

2:06 The 4.5 has the tray dispenser. Kinda sounds like you are saying you have to jump to the 5.0 for the dispenser.

Lone my 5500 set.
I can't wait to see the head to head review of the heat-pump combo all-in-ones from GE & LG.
Just know the GE machine has a belt driven drum spinning which means it will not spin as well as the direct drive spin.
When this unit to good for second floor. I recently got the Wash Tower, amazing clean and dry job. Unfortunately, It Shook my floor for low ans high spine, also very loud during spine. Im looking to get this one, any recommendations? Thank you for the informational video, helps.
Reliable, easy to use, Gentle on my Clothing.
Just ordered it hope it’s good to us 🙌🏼
Great info. Thank you!
No reversible door. The door only swing left so you may consider or check where you want to place the washer before you buy.
GE or LG
The LG dryer reverses. The GE and Electrolux has reverse on both washer and dryer.
Do you have any info about the bottom drawers? Can’t find anything
Bought it.
Always outstanding !!!
what would make the GE perfect is if they had recirculation...
They do in their Ultra Wash

Pretty sad when average 9.5% washers need repair in the first year. Not saying much about quality.
I agree. Seems very high
