Will there be updates?
Thank you, just bought this and looks good ! Did you create any more videos about using this add-on. Thank you
This is way cool!!!!
Thank you! We will be releasing a collection of tutorials using it soon!
i am working on a project that needs a lot of bird sims and after looking I found this addon. I see you added birds after this video and it seems like the easiest most efficient way to make bird flocks in blender so def going to purchase and try this addon out!
Awesome Noot! I think you will like the Add-on. It's pretty easy to get started with in my opinion.
@@LightArchitect awesome im excited to try it out! i also have a project of leaves and greenery flying around. is there a way you can import different models? or also if that could be added in a future update i think that could be useful!
Cool. I expect to see more crawling bugs in upcoming updates
It is highly likely. We are working on it :)
Things we need in this addon.
1. Bugs and all the crawling stuff need to be able to easily follow a curved surface (whats the point of a spider if it cant climb a wall?
2. Some fish swarms would be nice or these bugs that float on the water surface (more aquatic stuff)
3. Bats would also be nice and very fitting
Thanks for the input. We are working on some updates. Bats are a great idea.
@@LightArchitect Don't forget the fish!!! That's a really good idea in my opinion
@@solunepiano don't forget the ants
oh yeah true@@BenSalvacion
Hey guys, thanks a lot for the add-on.
I have been using it a lot but still have some issues with the collision part.
How do I make that the flying insects avoid an object (or move without touching its geometry)? I added a collision modifier to the objects which my flies fly around but they seem to collid with it before the real geometry.
I can imagine that you are even going to make the crowd stimulation...
That would be more useful
Might be working on that soon. Could be a much bigger project.

hi, how can I export this particle simulation in another 3d software or renderer as animated meshes?, thanks.
awesome!! this kind of thing gives LIFE to a scene..congrats... will you be adding more bugs, ants, lizards, geckos etc? (please say yes :))
Thank you Nildo! It is likely that we will be adding more to update it in the future! Good question!
@@LightArchitect come on guys! Just tell us if this addon will have further development feature wise.
Theres plenty of more potential for it
@@blenderlicious Hey Blenderlicious. Yes there is going to be further development. We have a few things in the works. We are glad you like it!
Ready for a Starship Troopers movie remake? I guess in a future version we might be able to drop Troopers from airships and start the battle with the bugs :)
Hahaha that would be cool!
Awesome! Can you use custom animals/characters?
Hi Rory, This add-on uses settings in the Blender boids particle system. So technically you could connect your own animated character to the particle system. But then I'm not sure you would need the add-on unless you just wanted to get past experimenting with your own boid settings within Blender. Hope that makes sense. -Brad
Please add ants and scorpions in future updates!! It will be cool!
Will keep this in mind. Adding bird and other flying creature variations very soon as well!
Getting the error TypeError: bpy_struct: item.attr = val: ParticleSettings.count expected an int type, not float
Hi Rek,
You likely have an older version of Spyderfy Installed. Try installing the file with the name " spyderfy3_0installB3_6.zip". This should resolve the error but let us know if you have any more questions.
Is it possible to make the spiders run on a wall? How?
The easiest way to do this is to rotate the scene entirely so that the wall is a groundplane. There are other ways as well but you would have to adjust the settings more precisely.
What can I do to prevent it from floating in the air?
Change the height parameter under the misc. tab in the boid particle settings.
Is this compatible with Blender 3.4?
Hi Gmlaster,
Yes Spyderfy works with Blender 3.4 as well.
will it work in lts?
Hi Pinoy,
We haven't yet tested Spyderfy in LTS but we plan on keeping it updated so will soon.
@@LightArchitect i see. hopefully you can make heron bird. if that happens ill buy spyderfy
@@LightArchitect i mean egret. the white bird
Please add birds to this addon 🙏
There is a high chance we will in the future!
Great addon and tutorial, but, for future videos, don't wave the cursor around in circles. It's very annoying.
Thank you for the kind words and input. Much appreciated.
I just purchased this add-on. In your tutorial here you click a downloaded file ending in "-zip" but I got nothing like that in my download. Why don't you include clear insructins for how to use the product people PAY for?
Hi Kent,
Thanks for your inquiry. It may not say ".zip" depending on your system but it is a compressed folder. The compressed folder is what you can install as your Blender Add-on under preferences. Just make sure not to unzip the contents of the folder.
