    Get these new Touratech Upper Crash Bars on your BMW R1250GS with help from Iain Glynn.
    Considering the cost of BMW replacement plastics, and how critical the radiator is to a water-cooled boxer engine, upper crash bars are a priority for the BMW R1250GS. Extend the protection of your adventure motorcycle with a set of upper fairing crash bars from Touratech. Whether you have OEM BMW or Touratech engine crash bars, these stainless-steel upper extensions will add much needed protection to your R1250GS.
    A vital component of the liquid-cooled boxer engine is its radiator, and while BMW did a good job of keeping it tucked-in and out of the way, the bottom corners are still vulnerable and can become a liability on a long adventure. Touratech Upper Crash Bars keep your radiator protected during a tip-over and also prevent damage to expensive body and fairing pieces on your BMW R1250GS.
    Made of strong 1-inch diameter stainless steel tubing, these bars are tough and also contribute the adventure aesthetic of this capable machine. Unlike other designs, Touratech crash bars compliment the overall look of the by following the lines of the stylish R1250GS.
    The Touratech Upper Crash Bar System is quick and easy to install, and also provides a solid location for mounting lights. They are fully compatible with BMW OEM crash bars, Touratech engine crash bars, and Touratech LED auxiliary lights.

    FYI - For the 2022 BMW R1250GS, there are seven (7) bolts for the beak.

    Very encouraging video to buy online and assemble it by oneself. Does this fit if you have a BMW lower crash bar which was installed by the BMW shop in the first place?

      Thanks for the question. Yes, these upper bars will fit great on an R1250GS with the BMW lower crash bars installed. Check the product page for more info here: touratech-usa.com/store/Upper-Crash-Bars-BMW-R1250GS

    Looks good but have a question. When I need to put some antifreeze in the overflow bottle, can I remove the side panel without taking the crash bar off?

    • @TouratechUSA
      @TouratechUSA  Před 3 lety +2

      The bar does have to be removed to take the side panel off but all the subframe brackets stay in place. The bar comes off with only 3 bolts per side so it's very quick. That said, we have never had to add coolant to an R1250GS.

    Can i remove the side plastic parts with the bmw logo without removing the crash bars ?

    • @TouratechUSA
      @TouratechUSA  Před rokem

      Not really. It's very easy to pull the three bolts first to remove the bar from the side you want to work on.

    Is it possible to mount it with SW Motech lower crash bars ?

      @TouratechUSA  Před 3 lety

      We haven't tested with those bars, only the BMW factory and Touratech lower bars.

    Question: If you purchase upper and lower bars, can you install both at the same time to save some screwing?

    • @TouratechUSA
      @TouratechUSA  Před 4 lety

      They share one bolt on each side so it's a bit quicker, but not that significant. Cheers!

      @@TouratechUSA Thanks for your reply but I purchased and installed both upper and lower crash bars from Touratech. Though I was unable to get all parts align under the beak for the fairing guards. No matter how many times I tried the alignment of the left, right and centre piece did not look smooth. Guess there is a design issue? Now I am awaiting delivery of the steel cylinder guards as well- hopefully it will fit in clean

      I'm not sure what you mean by "did not look smooth" but if there is a fit issue please contact us directly by phone or email rather than CZcams and we will help you however we can.

    If you have BMW engine crash bars you will need 2 x 40MM M8 bolts NOT the 30MM M8 that this Video says, because I just found that out .....30mm is to short..... otherwise its easy to fit and looks good.

      Thanks for the feedback. I believe there were some updates to the hardware kit after we made this video.
