Thanks Rob, this will be my First boat. Been on my list for awhile now. There's always something more primary coming up. Got tired of re-kitting airplanes, got into trucks and cars. I can handle Building the boat. Had some questions about motor mounts, stuffing tubes, and radio. U just answered. Thinking about(big maybe) putting rudders like a v-tail slider tray(probably not even useful). Thanks tho. Just subscribed.
Having built the Dumas Chris Craft Commander model I can appreciate that boat. I used a dual output ESC on my model, reversing one set of leads for my counter rotating motors.
I couldn't find the run video, but I am looking forward to seeing it on the water. It's a very nice looking boat. One can get very good results with rattle can paints on model sized projects.
My friend just gave me this same model.it is unfinished painted all white. Only the two propellers and shafts are installed and the rutter lincage. It looks great sitting on top ofy 220 gallon of sh tank ⚡⚡⚡🎣
Have you tried using the Astro Flight 860-5T brushless motor with Castle HV 60 speed control? Extremely pleased with performance with scratch-built 44" scale model of classic Bertram 31 deep V power boat. With 9-cell lipo SMC batteries, model will push 27 mph at full speed (A 1,300 watts)-- great to get out of way of full sized boats in an emergency. Don't waste time with lead-acid batteries. Astro motor remains a bargain in high-quality USA made brushless motors!
I personally ( retired electrician) would never use a blue ( power) color wire for a ground. Just saying. N But a nice boat. Stuck between this and the Crockett. Both about the same size, 48" or 51". Just want size can see across our pond. I ha6a ProBoat Catamaran, AquaCrafy Hydroplane, Ana Century Racing Yacht ( dont laugh. That's what it's really called. ) about 1/24 scale, and 30" long. Has a 550 motor, 2 ch radio. ABS plastic.
The batteries work as ballast plus I use the same batteries in my Dumas Donzi and wanted to keep it simple when running the two boats. I may upgrade at some point. Thanks for watching!
@@naterally2176 a lot of people don't realize the time it takes to complete a project like this. I built the Dumas Chris Craft Commander boat and have over 600 dollars in just model and running gear.

Another great video! Thanks for sharing!
It really is an attractive looking boat, and the color scheme suits it well too.

Very cool!
What a fun model to drive in the water.
Thanks for the nice review Rob! I'm going to build one eventually.

Thanks for the suggestion. I may try that in a next model.

Love to see it.
Would like to see it in the water.
I do have a video on my channel of it in the water.
Why lead acid 12v instead of a Lipo?

Was the hulk fiberglass before painting
I did not build this hull so I don’t know, looks like just epoxy resin to seal the wood inside and outside. Thanks for watching.
