There used to be a day when all the drummer was allowed to do was keep time. However, its players like this who remind you of what the full capacity of this instrument is. CJ Thompson is a lethal combination of speed, power, precision, and rudimentary.
Yeah, I think that´s the genius here... this guys like him keep the time so well that they can do shit over everything. Its another level...

@@jjdiddle7150 plus…all I’ve every played is K’s. They sound darker. These are way too bright sounding. K’s would have gotten washed out by all the other sounds because they’re so dark. They’re great but not very good in a gospel setting(I’m also an audio engineer).
We have seen CJ play these same songs..hundreds of times..yet whenever a new one pops up we WILL WATCH..multiple times 😆 and still be amazed.
