The majority of what you said is right on point with not signing any free agents last offseason and not trading to stay under the luxury tax penalty, however the big issue was the coach making big mistakes where he admitted to after game 7 to the wolfs which is way over playing his starters crazy minutes and not having a bench or precisely not playing his bench all season long
The Nuggets will be good for a long time.. the problem is the rest of the league is improving as well it would be difficult for champions to repeat..
Basketball is all about the bench contributions in the playoffs, the final two teams in the western conference have the deepest bench in division, the sixth man of the year from Minnesota and Dallas plays 9-10 deep every game in the playoffs where they outplay their opponents at the fourth quarter

KCP is definitely not accepting his option. He had a great year he’s only 31, and it’s probably his last chance to even get paid. ???

@@whiteyobanion1104 He’s probably going to get re-signed with us on a new contract after declining the option. I like Braun a lot but I don’t think he’s taking KCP’s spot unless he leaves.

They have to give up 1 of the starter to avoid 2nd apron and be able to retool.
Its gonna be hard to avoid 2nd apron, retool while keeping the starting 5. They have to move 1 of the starter, zeke, reggie keep either 1 of tyson or pickett. Its okay to develop player. But if you gonna run deep you have to atleast have 7 bench playable in playoffs. They should settle with CB, Pwat,Strawther, tyson and 1 2024 draft and sign or trade 4 guys. Keep vlatko.
This team takes a huge step back if they lose KCP. You are criminally underestimating KCP’s perimeter defense he’s easily a top 5 perimeter defender in the league. That is not easily replaceable at all

Denver's is a great team with no bench. And this problem is not new, they are having bench problems for at least 3 years... I think they have to clone Jokic.

Denver has had a bad bench since Malone took over. He is terrible since he has 1 starter with 4 bench players.
They need a backup big and a better back up point guard as Reggie.
Murray and MPJ need to improve this summer. Murray was awful most of the playoofs, Porter''s weaknesses have been shown.against Minnesota, he needs to step up on another level on both sides of the floor.
I think Murray’s issues all revolve around his injuries. Unfortunately it seems he’s just an injury prone player

You have to get rid of MPJ. The guy can’t help but throw up bricks. And the fact he’s starting tells you how weak the bench players are.

They lost because Murray and MPJ played awful the entire series. Murray played only game 7 good. You can't win when your 2 and 3 best player are nowhere. They need to work on their games this summer. Come on guys, you can do it! Denver fan!
mpj needs to go. in the finals last year he was terrible but they bailed him out. plus his injury history is a risk.
@@smoked-old-fashioned-hh7lo True, but rest of the games he played great. And against Lakers in the first round was fantastic. But Minnesota has closed him, he coudn't get a shot, he needs to step up against that kind of deffense.
@@milosmrkajic2750 i think they should keep him for one more year and then if he underwhelms again trade him. to be honest i think they lost because they were tired. they should get more depth though for the bench.

The shooting guard position is a little concerning going into next season. I truly think KCP is leaving this offseason and it will really be his last chance getting a bag. Somebody is going to pay him good with his defense, shooting, and championship experience. We all love Christian Braun but is he really ready to make that step to be a starter ? He was scared to shoot game 7 against the Timberwolves and there were many other times he lacked confidence. He either has a lot of confidence or none at all. He was very inconsistent but that’s going to be normal because he’s a 2nd year player. I think we should trade Reggie, Zeke, and our first round pick for a solid back up center. Reggie Jackson makes me want to scratch my eye balls out watching him. Zeke has really never been given a chance and can find that with a different team. There’s also a chance KCP does stay though. This is kind of an obvious answer but our team is either going to look the same with minor tweaks or our team looks a lot different with a whole new bench and shooting guard lol.
I know they won't do this but if I was the GM, Murray is gone. No way I pay him anything close to the supermax. I'd rather have Dejounte Murray and Bogi for the price of Jamal. Gotta get depth, that has to be the focus. Plumblee, Caruso, Bruce. Shouldn't cost that much to get those guys assuming Bruce's team option is declined. Maybe a sign and trade KCP for Caruso. MPJ should be traded, maybe to Portland for Malcolm Brogdan and Robert Williams.

Jamal Murray is a top 10 point guard in this league and has proven he’s built for the postseason. God forbid he has 1 bad series and we are thinking about this with MPJ and Jamal? The Timberwolves are a team that’s designed to beat the nuggets and nobody else. What they should REALLY do is get a back up center to help Jokic relax. The Timberwolves have three 7 foot players and we never thought about bringing in zeke or Deandre Jordan.
@@cooperchase3978 He's injury prone and going to want a major contract extension coming up now: If he takes a four-year deal, it will be worth about $208 million over the duration of the deal. If he takes a five-year deal, he could get around $270 million.
Nothing against Jamal, but we need depth and giving an injury prone player $270 million is going to end this teams window. Jokic is the guy. You can surround him with 3-D guys and he'll be fine without Murray. Then use the cap space to plug the holes in the bench, including a reliable backup Center to give him 15-18 minutes of rest a night so he's fresh come the playoffs.

@@cooperchase3978Murray needs to really ascend this coming season. No more excuses. No more playoffs risers. He needs to be an All-star caliber player. Think about it... In both game 5 and game 7 he played above what he'd demonstrated leading up to those games. If that's the case then he could have done it sooner. He just didn't. That alone is good reason to say he cost them the series. Why wait until you drop the game you're supposed to win? Losing game 6 to MN was a huge blunder and could have been avoided if Murray showed up like he did in game 7. It's frustrating.
This would be insane to let KCP go. Zero chance the Nuggets do that. He's an elite defender. Didnt go great against ANT but ANT's strength is not a good matchup for a lot of defenders, and no knock on KCP. Against quick guards like Steph Curry or Devin Booker, he's invaluable. He will decline his player option and get a $22m offer. He's only 31 so he'd be 34 after a 3 year deal. The problem will be if they can't match in which case their offense takes a big hit with Christian Braun moving into the starting lineup.
Trade MPJ and sign some type of backup rim protecting big
OG, Caruso, Bruce back (assuming team option declined), Plumbee back. Move Porter. Lose KCP, Reggie, Vlatko, trade Zeke.
