I find colorization to be distracting. I don't know if it degrades over time or what but seeing things turn pink or yellowish, well, it takes me out of the film. I end up paying more attention to the color than the film. I've never minded B&W. My first color TV experience was walking in my aunt and uncle's house and Gilligan's Island was on. The lush greens, the bright blue and red of Gilligan and the Skipper. I was born in 1957.

Modern films have so much extra thrown in (sex, car chases, CGI, noise) that they forget about telling a good story. I've always enjoyed a good character study, I think that's why I'm drawn to older films. Old films let you get to know the characters. Rather than tje quick kiss of relief and gratitude in the farmhouse today's film would have had them in bed together. That would take minutes away that could have been better used to find a plot or let us get to know the characters they want us to feel some way about. These old films are far more satisfying for me. Something to be said for letting the imagination fill in the blanks.

The start of this film opened the curtain in acount of setting the stage of this diabolical thriller. But, some of this movie seemed like a copy-cat of other films. For instance: The daVinci code by way of portraying 39 steps along with the brill-stein window by way of showing an image of the woman that got stabbed on a map (get it) who predicts the trail, ect ect. The finally, took its course by a resolved of from festeration on the part of the actor to a genius finale. Good work Mr. Hitchcock you did it again...........
