    Thank you so much, Luca! I'm using a Head Speed Mp Legend 2024 strung with Head Lynx Tour 1.20mm black. As you mentioned, the best combination that I EVER tried. Lynx Tour makes the Speed play almost like a pro staff, everything is tight, massive control and precision, I didn't felt almost no inconsistency. I put the ball wherever I wanted in every single shot, without sacrificing the natural spin and power of the racquet. The launch angle of the ball was very controlled too. It is a dream combo.

    Ok. Mate you are great. You are so spot on. I have the same specific feel with wasabi. I don’t like shaped strings in general but wasabi despite being shaped it plays closer to a soft round string. It’s very smooth on contact. It’s not aggressive on byte like those ultra shaped solinco strings…. it’s soft and plush. Despite being a little bit muted it offers great predictability and control. This string has amazed me the most from toroline and more than wasabi pro and enso pro and k pop which i didnt like it much because of its firm/stiff response. Wasabi is great. The hype is real. And i know what i am talking about cause my main string is 4G ❤

    Great vid. Would be good to get a future video of polys that have the best tension maintenance. I think tension maintenance is an under-rated spec for rec players who don’t have time to get thier racquets restrung constantly. I know guts and multis are much better in this area, but I’d still like a vid on polys

    Love my Lynx Tour-dabbled with all sorts of strings but they're just super solid. I also feel like they play decent until just before they break, which is a major perk over other strings (like HyperG and Cyclone, which get really bad well before they break).
    Have been enjoying messing around with hybrid setups, keeping the mains the same and going for slick and round crosses for feel and control.

    Thank you for a great video as always! I'm having a little dilemma regarding my new racket - I've been playing tennis for 8-9 months and a few months ago I bought Babolat Pure Aero 2023. Sometimes I really enjoy its power and spin but other times I had a feeling that maybe something with more control and feel will be better to me so I've tested out around 15 rackets this week from all brands and my favourite ones were Head Speed MP (great bh&fh, but not much power while serving), Speed Pro (great power at serving but couldn't control my bh&fhs like with the MP, my groundstokes basically couln't stop flying and kept ending up way behind the line), Gravity MP (I really liked that one too, it has more power while serving but I liked bh&fhs more with Speed) Gravity Tour (I liked the MP more) and Pure Drive 98 (great bh&fh, no power while serving).
    So actually today I've already purchased Speed MP Legend as I really enjoyed playing forehands and backhand using it but I would love it to have more power while serving like Speed Pro or my Aero 100 2023. Could you recommend any string from whatever manufacturer that would increase the power on serves without loosing control and feel on bh&fhs?
    And not sure if it's wise but maybe I'll also buy the Gravity MP as it was very close to Speed MP, I definitely liked serves using it more that with Speed, and if I decided to buy it too - do you think if I customize it to make it eg. 10g heavier would that make forehands and backhands as good as with Speed MP + with that additional power on serves?
    Thanks in advance for your help :)

    According to the Strings you love you should also try Tourna Big Hitter Silver (Seven Tour).
    IMHO better than RPM and Alu.

    • @iRsopp
      @iRsopp Před 4 měsíci

      It’s a multifilament so hard to compare directly to the polys in the list.
      I use it occasionally in the crosses to soften up the stringbed. Compared to full poly, the velocity cross is surprisingly lower powered, but unsurprisingly it leads to less spin and the strings don’t snap back after about 30mins.

  • @proshepherd

    Can you explain why rough strings slide better on gut?
    Also, don't you get spin from the mains snapping, not the crosses?

    • @RacketsRunnersVancouver
      @RacketsRunnersVancouver  Před 4 měsíci +1

      To be honest, I can't tell you exactly what goes on during a shot but, yes, it certainly feels like it's the mains snapping. I'm trying to find the best way to explain why rough slides better on gut but it's really tough; you'd have to string a racket with both to understand but the smoothness of non-rough strings get's very sticky in the softer gut.

    I'm a 4.0 with minor wrist and elbow issues (both from lifting grocery bags, not tennis). I'd love to see you review tennis strings for players at my level and below. What level are you, by the way? Most reviewers are very good players and don't always speak to players of lesser rating. You do. This video doesn't help me as it's clearly for higher level players. I understand. I play tested a Percept 97 recently and loved it. I ordered two from my local tennis shop. I like a 5/8 grip, so they had to be ordered. The demo had a poly of some kind in it, which I loved. I'm afraid to use a poly as I don't want arm issues that will keep me from playing. The owner of the shop restrung the demo and is letting me use it until my rackets arrive. I has some kind of multi or polyester in it and I didn't enjoy the feel today. Sorry for the long post. Any recommendations? Great reviews, luca!

    • @RacketsRunnersVancouver
      @RacketsRunnersVancouver  Před 2 měsíci

      Thank you very much! You could either go for a hybrid with a poly and a multi (that will be plenty comfortable), or you could try some of the new era soft polyesters like RPM Soft or Head Lynx Touch.
