For those who don't know, His hits were one thing but you have to go listen to the rest of the music that didn't make it on the BIG LIST. Some really great music that was never heard over the air waves
yep just like the Doobie Brothers just like Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers and more.
don't get the album's you just get the cliff notes.
Amen to that
I do!
Yea. John,. The. whole. Eddie Money / Eddie. Money. Album. is. good,. not. just. Baby. hold. On / 2. Tickets. actually. the. other. songs. Rock. 🤔
I knew he had these great songs, but i would have killed to see him xoxo
I saw Eddie play this live from 5 feet away at the Cains Ballroom in Tulsa 1981. He rocked the place !
I saw him 3 times in Bay Area clubs right before his first album came out, and then after that 4 or 5 more times at larger venues. He was always good live. Too bad cigarettes and drugs cut his life short.
I could listen to this song forever and never get tired of it. R.I.P.
Same here
Absolutely. Hadn't heard this song in years. Was actually traveling thru West Virginia and heard it on the radio. Fell in love with it all over again. Great older tune.
me to
Right???
Me too
Rip... This is my favorite Eddie money
Mine too ............RIP Money Man
Mine too - I had this cassette blaring from my ‘73 Plymouth Satellite circa 1981... great song! RIP Eddie!
@@jeffyounger8092 I had a 70 Dodge Dart GT 340 with Clarion tape deck . EQ booster and 6x9 speakers. Making 250 bucks a week bring home. No shortage of babes to take cruising. I was on top of the world !
lifelong chronic smoker sadly one month ago in August 2019 said he was diagnosed with stage 4 esophageal cancer.
one month later he checks out for that great gig in the sky
ME TOO!!!!
The absolute most underated Eddie Money song
underrated how & where? it's a classic rock staple as well as one of his concert must-hears
@@Tarantulisimo it's one of my favorites but never gets air play anymore like the big hits
I was in my twenties when it came out. And he had a bunch of good songs but this was my favorite too and I would always laugh picturing him watching a Clint Eastwood movie while I wrote it. LOL rip Eddie
Thank God! commercial radio would have destroyed it
@@73.stingray7 I always laughed when he said "Slap my horse in the ass!"Classic?
Rest in peace Eddie. Thank you for all the great music 💜😔
Saw eddie do this one (my Favorite) at harbor island on the mouth of hillsborough river, we were there in a boat, obstructed by massive speakers, Eddie came around back of them to sing a few verses for average non paying people in the boats, I've never forgotten that generous gesture, What a cool cat!
The Guy was the Definition of Rock Star.....and then some.....
Eddie Mahoney was a guest at my girl friends party back in December of 1983.
Being that Gimme Some Water was and is one of my all time favorite tunes I asked Eddie what inspired him to write it. *He told me that he wrote it in less than ten minutes after watching a western on late night T.V.*
NICE. The writing on this song is good stuff.
That's so cool, because that's what it sounds like, 1o minutes, damn, 10 minutes well spent
@@timpenfield5 ....that's about all I needed with my girl tonight ....
Wonderful, thank you for sharing your story, it is pretty cool. :D*
Wow what a great memory thanks for sharing it
My favorite Money song..bought this 40 years ago..I was 12..RIP.
Me too..
Came here to hear him again. Man I am broken as all fans are....God Bless Eddie's Family and Fans...I saw him 1 time 6 years ago...He was so stellar and perfect!! So good on that stage!! I have been a fan since 77 and his debut was my very 1st 8 track....I still have it! R.I.P. Money Man...😢😢😢your songs will resonate in our hearts and the future hearts of new fans FOREVER....WE LOVE YOU!
I heard this song for the first time in close to 30 years this morning. I was instantly transported to the passenger seat of my dad’s Isuzu Rodeo heading up the mountain to look for arrowheads. Such an awesome song!
I agree. I am a great fan of Eddy money and miss him greatly. He used to live just 10 minutes away from me. I miss him so much, but his music lives on forever.
The late but the great Eddie Money, as far as I know the only ex police officer on the planet that hit the music stardom in the US and around the world! he was a very talented artist! so charismatic!
Happy birthday today Sweet Eddie!
RIP darlin.
REST. IN EDDIE. YOU. WERE. GREAT. MY MAN MR MONEY MAN
Me and my cuz heard this song when it first came out and this song was gold, even to this day this song still rocks!
Way rocks
Eddie, you made my teenage days the happiest.
This guy was cool, I had a friend in the 80's that looked almost identical to Eddie Money- that close - 4 guys in Austin Texas living in a one bedroom apartment - but we Teased Billy Truba about looking like Eddie Money, hell the Joke was on us it got him a lot of TLC - Eddie Money was great!
I saw Eddie in Rapid City together with 38 Special in summer of '84. He opened and sang a great set with his excellent band. After his show, he went back to his hotel (Alex Johnson Hotel) and walked into the upstairs club they called AJ's. The band playing recognized him and they all but handed over their instruments. I missed that but the word was he played another hour set for those lucky folks. I reckon that is exactly the kind of guy he was. RIP Eddie, you were great!
eddie money one of the good guys. WIll never be forgotten
Such a BadAss tune! RIP, Edward Mahoney-Money xoxo
Thumbs up from the New Mexico panhandle...this song fits like a T....miss ya Eddie!

R.I.P. Edward "Eddie" Mahoney
Your music helped me endure the pre-commissoning of the USS Land (AS-39) @ Lockheed Shipbuilding, Seattle, '78-"79.
Now Greg, you still wish you were back in that boat jamming to Eddie 😄
@@thenarrowroad7908
Especially if sailing underway, yes...moored to the pier sux!
Eddie always seemed like a guy you could hang out and have a drink with and sing great songs! Miss you Eddie!
My favorite Eddie Money song.Gone is another great.
I'm a fifty nine year old man bawling my eyes out in my kitchen love this song
What a fine rockin' tune! God I love you Eddie. Always have and always will. Rest in sweet peace ❤🌹🎤🎷🎹
We miss you Eddie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You were great , Eddie... Seen you in Chicago .... 1978 The Loops Day in the Park ... Camisky Park.... White Sox Park ... Great Job , Eddie ... R.I.P.....
I saw him a year ago in Cleveland at the Hard Rock...man did he have a lot of energy and the crowd (sold out of course) was amazing...we sang along to every second of the show and this song (my favorite) was one of the show ender's...RIP $Man! You rocked us with your music and your love!
Awesome
I heard this song riding back from the beach on a classic rock station. I don't think I'd ever heard it before but the voice sounded familiar and it had a great chorus. I looked it up and it's Eddie Money, how about that ? why isn't this played as much as "Shakin" or "2 tickets to paradise" ? It rocks !
Godspeed, Eddie!
all i know is music....eddie is one of the very few performers that shows the emotion when he sings. he does another song song "we should be sleeping". its nothing but fun.
Really like Eddie Money. Just heard this song by him a month back it now has become my favorite. Other then i wanna go back
Instantly recognizable great Rock voice. Gonna miss him.
My favorite song from Eddie Mahoney. Killer guitar licks.
Sound track to my life.....saw you at knockti harbor inn ....you were badass! Thankyou eddie
Eddie used to play at the Boardwalk in Santa Cruz California every year to open up summer! It was a free concert on the beach and it was always a blast!
Always Love his voice. it's like a perfect mix of Billy Joel and Rod Stewart
Hate Bilky Joel but I will take Stewart. Love Eddie.
I agree completely...husky rasp of Rod with more of that east coast songwriter keening tone Billly has...very astute post
Eddie's got his own sound I hear no billy/rod in him, he has a distinct New Yorker singing voice, fabulous, he is better then billie + rod put together & then some! ++ ++ Eddie Money ++ rocks
Eddie you’ll never be forgotten! Rock on !
This song is such an instant classic 🔥 ✨ 🎵 👌 🙌
STEADY EDDIE...MISS YOU MONEY MAN....😇...💖..$$$$$$$$$$..
found memories of camping with this song. RIP Eddie Mahoney
Rest in peace money man we're losing the best of the best there's no good music left we just have videos and tapes from the 70s 80s and 90s anything after that is pure crap
I didnt know Eddie was this gorgeous & edgy in his younger days!
Classic rock. Just awesome stuff rest in peace mr. Eddie money
Epitome of the 80s.
This man came around Detroit 20 years later and people still loved him. His target market might have dwindled by then but he was still remembered. I remember the morning radio shows live with him in concert years after his peak and he was a humble and likeable feller. He kinda made it at this point, then he was gone.
It's March 2023 and the world is upside down. I was thirsty and thought of this song and had to search and play it and I'm somewhat aligned with the world again for at least a little bit.
eddy you were part of a great generation.a time of great and wonderful music those are the days I will always remember R.I.P. EDDY MONEY
Eddie was GEEKED singing this
Love the doubled vocals on the chorus. EM was tough
He was so hot n talented..smoking sure does ppl in..mostly the poison they put in tobacco..love ya money man♡ RIP
1st time I heard this was late 70s on our LTD stereo
HOW AM I THE FIRST PERSON TO COMMENT ON THIS. This song still gets play on classic rock. Eddie rocks. Underrated performer!
Frank Nicotero I never hear this song. I always head shakin or two tickets. I haven't heard this since the 90s I totally forgot it till I heard him play it live a few days ago
Very underrated.
I miss Eddie Money so much!
FM AOR hit, still surprised that this never was a smash hit.
Still hear this song on the radio today!!
That guitar doing that intro lick....sets the whole tone.
Agree. Learning this tune past few days. Right up my alley and love it.
Just lost an old Friend!
RIP Loved U And Still Do!!!
You will be missed Money Man. Say hi to Tom, Ronnie, and the rest. RIP Eddie.
Dave Moyer amen brother
Love this tune! Plus he is my older brothers absolute twin. Uncanny how much they look alike.
Rip Eddie,

Top Eddie Money track in my opinion
RIP
His facial expressions. His body language just make this perfect. What a great song. I was too young to ever to see you play in your prime but my young kids (age 3 and 5) love your music. Keeping good music alive 🤘🏻
This is my theme song!!
RIP Money Man ..........Godspeed
RIP Eddie. :'(
I remember hauling ass down the freeway east from El Cajon with this song blasting, Good times... thanks Eddie! RIP
Jeffrey Gladden I live in Oklahoma but back when I started driving big rigs in 1981 at the age of 18 for my Dad’s trucking company I made deliveries all over the San Diego area. I remember El Cajon. I remember having a couple of stops on Fletcher Parkway. I remember when Eddie Money hit the big time about 1978 when I was in High School. He kicked ass! 👍
Awesome, sorry for the late reply, I just found that notification button. Yes, good, good times!
God rest your soul, dear man. You will be forever missed. You were always kind when I met you after the shows. I have your signature you signed on my forearm forever immortalized with a picture. Thanks for your special love of your Detroit fans. 💗💗💗💗💗
Outstanding. Great voice. Will miss Eddie.
Tanks for all good music Eddie! RIP
