The blackbirds in my garden do this every evening, like a clock chiming

Delicious. Me too, I have the "luck" to hear the birds, in the morning and in the evening.
    Grazie for sharing. Fausto

This sort of chuck chuck sound makes me laugh and gives me a warm feeling inside. I love the blackbird

Thank you for the video of the small birdsong.
When my town is morning, many birds begin to call. My alarm clock is birdsong.
    In Japan, spring comes soon.

Grrrrr! Seriously? Thatmonotoous 'yip yip yip!!!' noise does my head in and I want to know what I can do to stop it! I live in London and I'm lucky wnough to have some garden space out the back. I also have an overweight cat that needs exercise so sometimes I put her out there. However, as soon as I do, this dreadful rackett starts up all over again! Why can't the birds understand that she's too obese to be of any threat to them or their young?!

Either get your cat in shape or buy napalm

This is actually an every day event for blackbirds. They all call at dusk, to mark their territories and warn other blackbirds off. It's an alarm call to each other. That's why you only hear blackbirds and not other birds joining in. If it was a predatory animal, all birds would be alarm calling. It's part of nature and nature does what it wants, not what we want it to do.
