Hi everyone! Today I'm going to share how to curl short hair with a curling iron. In my opinion the best way to curl short hair with a curling iron is to use a 1 inch barrel. If the barrel size is too large it won't hold a curl. Along with tips on how to curling hair I'm also going to share tips on what to use to maintain and care for your short hair and also how to create a fuller look. Annie This was so very helpful! I have very thick curly (beach wavy ) hair and I never blow dry ( so I wash at night so dry by morning) if I blow dried it I would look crazy. I am going to try these idea's. I too get it trimmed every 4 weeks because I need colored now this often A lot of gray I hate it. My hair was black so I started getting gray hair at 24 yrs old and so it's been a long time of coloring my hair. My stylist is great thank God she's the best! Thank you so much.

Hi Anne, thanks for doing this video you make it look easy , my hair is similar in it has a wave in it but mine is also thin but a fair bit of it and it's long too but im sure i can still apply the same method, your hair always looks so healthy and it curls beautifully too, i like redkin products ,your the first CZcamsr I've seen do hair without using heaps of products, it just goes to show you don't need to use half a dozen products to do a beautiful curly hair style ,all the best Mary🌻

Great video. I like using the word “dusting” when I want a microscopic trim. Lovely style. PS went gray starting at 16. Coloring is my way 🙂
Hi Deb, that's a great term to use. Thank you so much! My husband started going grey at 18 but decided at 34 he had enough. I've been coloring his hair ever since. Nothing wrong with coloring or not coloring hair. It's up to each individual on what they want to do😉😘

Great video Anne and your hair looks gorgeous. My hair is now similar to yours only mine is shorter at the back and is longer at the sides. I have a natural wave and sometimes have it curly but mostly I straighten it. I like you let is air dry most of the time so I don’t do much damage using my straighteners. I have mine cut every 4-5 weeks anyway so it is always in good condition ❤️ xx
Hi June, that's the key to healthy hair. Getting it trimmed will keep it healthy and you're not over drying it with tools.

Have long admired your hair. It is stylish and youthful. Reały shiny too. I have hair underneath that won't take a curl unless the heat is high. That is one reason I gave up heat styling several years ago. Mature hair (70+) presents so many problems. Thinner, greying, dryer, finer. I color my thin, fine hair. IMO, it gives the appearance of denser hair. Thanks for the demo.

Thank you for doing this demo! I use hot rollers and sometimes a curling iron. My hair is highlighted and very fine so it curls pretty easy but my problem is keeping the curl all day! I do use products for volume but I live in Georgia the humidity capital of the world except in Florida where you live!!!
Oh yeah it's humid here too 😂 Surprisingly my hair does pretty good with the humidity. But on days when it's just too hot then I pull my hair up for air conditioning 😉

I love your hair, I had a similar length and it started to grow in very curly which was a surprise to me and everyone who started saying wow I never knew you had curly hair...I never did before 50. Oh well. Now I would need to balance the curly and the straighter bits .

Your hair looks so pretty. My hair is a wee bit longer just below shoulder length but am thinking of getting it cut more into a lob like yours. I too don’t have a lot of grey in my hair or white but I’m a light blonde so you wouldn’t see it anyway lol I also put rose gold in my hair so gives it a light pastel pink shade to it. Great video

Great video and great hair. I would like to curl my hair for 2nd day hair but it's a very short layered bob and I'm nut sure which size iron to get. I get my hair trimmed and a color refresh every 5 weeks. Pet peeve - people who cut their own hair. Ugh! Have a great week Anne.

I set my flat iron to 425 bc my hair is thick and it needs more heat to do the job in a quicker manner. You have beautiful, healthy, shiny hair :)

I can't put a curling iron to my hair because I have very fine 3b curly hair. I have a lot of hair, but it breaks easy even without heat. It was interesting to see how you make your hair look so nice. I'm getting less breakage since I started the Colleen Rothschild you recommended and I no longer have the fairy knots at the nape of my neck. Can't thank you enough for that! Your hair looks amazing and your very lucky to not have any gray yet. It's hard to color gray and the color seems to fade out of the grey. Sure you will know how to deal with it if the time ever comes. You really do look like you have thick hair, so all your tips are amazing.

Anne, thanks for the great video! You have the most GORGEOUS hair, and I couldn't believe it when you said it isn't naturally thick! The curl/wave you have in the back definitely works to your advantage. How often to do wash it? Will the curl last couple days without washing?

Hi Beth I go to a stylist to have my hair done. That's exactly what I'll continue doing when I start to grey is to have highlights. It's a great way to blend it all and it's not as noticeable as it's growing out 😉

Hi Anne. Do you have to curl your hair everyday. It looks so beautiful. I have very thick hair and it grows like weeds. I love going to the hairdresser. It's mainly for a good thin out. I also have the kind of hair that you can do anything with it. Wash and go. Blow dry. Gel and off I go. I was very very blond when I was young and it got dark as I got older. At the moment I had blonde and reddish foils done. I even went for a perm. Was trying to grow my hair longer but couldn't take it so that's why I did a perm. Just nice soft curls. You have such beautiful hair. I air dry my hair till it’s about 80% dry then use that Revlon brush dryer, then flat iron it. Girl if I just let it air dry I’d be a big poofy hair gal not a pretty look, haha. I’ve tried a curling iron, but I’m thinking about getting some hot rollers. I go to the salon every 4 weeks cause I have to cover my grey roots but she does trim it every other time I go, you think that’s enough?😘
If you color your hair every 4 weeks and you're not trying to grow it out I would have her at least trim the ends every time. Hair color is drying to our hair so trimming it up every time you go will keep it looking healthy.
Your hair looks really nice with the waves in. I have been letting mine air dry and never use heat on it now and i like it, mine has a natural wave. Did you not like hairdressing?
Hi Karen you're luck to have such nice hair to maintain. I loved doing hair.But I didn't keep my license because it required more schooling which I'm never going to work in a salon again. So I let it go. It's just really hard for me to stand all day. I could not do that kind of work again. But I enjoyed the years I did it. I wish I could have kept my license for purchasing professional products.
I used to be a beautician a long time ago...your haircut looks great on you but i have longish hair and it is baby fine and doesn't hold a curl....Your hair is wavy and gorgeous!!

Hi Patty it could be a few things. One you may be using too much, could be placement and three it could be the concealer you're using.
@@MakeupForMatureSkin I am using Estee Lauder double wear foundation and concealer I use a moisturize primer from clinique. I do wait for it to soak in before applying my foundation also. Any idea's that might help. I do see in one of your review's you like Lamcone concealer. Thank you for your time Annie.

Anne I have VERY thick, wavy, frizzy hair. It’s long and tangles easily. I’ve never found a good brush and also need good styling products. Can you give me some suggestions? I want to get my hair cut like yours. How is your haircut? I hope you see this and don’t mind sharing.
Hi Jan! My cut is a layered bob. I love the Colleen Rothschild hair mask and serum. I just started using her shampoo and I love that as well. I use the mask as a regular conditioner everyday. After I apply it I use a brush and brush it through. A large comb would work great too. I let it sit on while I wash. After my shower I use a pump of her hair serum. I work it in my hair. Then I take my wet brush( they sell these brushes at Target) and brush my hair. I normally let mine air dry. Occasionally I will dry it with my hair dryer.😊💖💖💖

Hi Barbara I do it the same way that I shared. Although I don't often have second day hair. I take morning walks and I get quite sweaty so I wash my hair daily😉

Use my Revlon daily! On my second one and it's a must have for my weird, sort of wavy hair. I have to use it to straighten/blow-out first, then use the curling iron for the beachy waves.

I had a stylist, earlier this year, fire me as a client. She said I was too nit picky over every detail of my hair and it stressed her out!!! So yes, I would point out that one side was longer than the other or she just plain didn't cut it right. I took in pictures of what I wanted and would try to describe in detail what I wanted. I didn't do any of this in a bitchy way in my opinion. I've never been told I was that type of person. I just felt that if I'm paying her to cut my hair, I should be able to get what I want, within reason. Am I wrong?
Hi Linda, nope you are not wrong! You're the client and you're paying her. She should have cut it how you wanted it.
I rarely use a dryer or curler. I have a very old Steam curler. If i have time i might i sleep with it wraped in a bun style. I goes curly enough. But my hairs been falling a bit lately. My wonderful hairdresser god bless her passed away. I am sure i mentioned that. The new girl is useless. I have Olaplex i give it to her. I know shes mot using it, why my hair fallz when i first get it coloured. Oh yeah i want yay much cut. No i have my own idea. She cuts too much. Then says uou needed it. Hello tell me that first. I dont get split ends. So no. I dont need it. About to go elsewhere. I liked them because they dont have olaplex so i can take my own in. Xxx lovely curls. xxx 💞❤💕
That's so frustrating! I hate when a stylist doesn't listen to what a client wants! As a?stylist myself it infuriates me! I would search for a new stylist. One that does what you're asking for.
