All of the grandparents in this comment section learning how to make clothing for their grandchildren are so pure and wholesome.
I tried being a batch sewer for a lady who sold tons of American Girl doll clothes. It was shocking that it seemed to take as long as making human-sized garments! Great tips!
I use pinking shears to go around and trim all the edges. It makes a big difference in bulk! Great video, thanks!
It’s my first time venturing into making doll clothes, this was very helpful.
Perfect for easter and Christmas
As someone who is just learning to sew for dolls, this video has been incredibly helpful!! Thanks so much!!

I like to make my own plushies and dolls (even though I’m 14) and would really like some tips on planning design patterns for the base doll or plush.
I've been sewing for many years. Love your tips for small sewing.
Thanks! Your "soothing" voice & slow, simple instructions were just what my 9yr.old Grandie needed to be able to stay focused! Going to search for more of your videos now.😊
You are great at your job. I've sewed for years and you are spot on. In fact, my Granddaughter got an American Girl doll for Christmas. I am now making clothes for her. I just picked up 3 Simplicity Patterns. I think this is one of them.
Loved your tips, I am now making my granddaughters AG doll clothes and having. So much fun!
I loved this presentation, especially the way Joy describes the details. She is so pleasant and a great communicator. It's amazing how one can always pick up new tips regardless of how long you have been sewing. I appreciate the suggestions in this video.

It's been a long time since I have sewn doll clothes (I am a Grandmother now) and my G-Daughter is wanting to have new clothes for her "best friend" ...these videos were short...very informative and so helpful. I think a new sewer would understand these helpful tips....simple and sweet! Thank you so much!
love her videos, i've been sewing a long time but many of her hints are new to me.
A lot of great helpful tips! I usually gather a piece but I like the way you suggest doing it with pins!
Have sewed many doll clothes for my granddaughters already but, found your tips very helpful.
Great job. Thanks
I absolutely love the pin gathering. Thank you so much for making it So much easier.
Oh my goodness that was amazing especially the gathers! I dont have to stitch then pull. This is my research for my first doll outfit for a My Child doll. Thank you so much for the tips and the show and tell in such great detail. Yes I am subscribing!

I too am a beginner doll and doll’s clothes maker... Thank you for taking the time to make and share these amazing and helpful tips video!
excellent thank you so much, I am a beginner to nd you explained everything so well and easy to understand.
also for closures - I use pretty color coordinated 1/4" to 1/2" ribbon and sew on the back closings - then all you have to do is tie the ribbons and the garment is closed and the ribbon allows for different size dolls to wear the same clothes. So much easier for little hands than snaps and buttons
Do explained it very well I love those close made the doll I haven’t started making the dress yet thank you so much for making it so clear I will be following you in the near future thank you from Jane God bless
Great job!! I really appreciate how thorough you were in your explanations! Thank you!

Thanks for this! I just started learning to sew doll clothes. Love the gathers tip.
Thank you so much for that great tip about the gathering! I always hated basting and pulling thread for gathers, especially in these little garments.
Loved the tips for gathering and for clipping curves!

I really enjoyed how you gathered. That makes really good sense as the stitch and gether method is a little more awkward to get the gathers straight =) Great video, thank you.
I have been sewing for 65 years and have been doing gathers the same way! Even the skirts on bed spreads. If you use glass head pins match the colors at important location on the seam. One tip to share: if you are making doll clothes from fake fur, trim all seam allowances to nearly 1/4 inch before doing any machine stitching.
love these tips would like to see tutorials on more of these and also closures
Brilliant! I just need to get hold of the pattern now and a quilting foot... Thank you for this videa
Great tips! well presented and enjoyable to watch. thank you😀
this is wonderful tips thank you so much I hope yall make make more tutorial on doll patterns thank you
This is super helpful for larger dolls. You have to go even smaller with the notions for smaller dolls. I am still looking for more sewing tips for 11.5 inch dolls, though most of my makes for that size require some form of accompanying hand sewing.
This just popped up in my suggestions but was so well presented I’ve subscribed
Love the tips, still have the patterns from when I was little and inherited from my gran and now I am sewing for my granddaughter! Unfortunately they stay home as she is like me, not a dolly mother but you can't blame me for trying, love sewing them, hahahaha!
Great tips! Love the way you gather!!

Really helpful tips especially like the one on armhole finishing
Loved the gathering technique thanks.
Thank you for your very helpful tips. I find myself drifting off into my Grandchildren's world when making doll clothes for them. I selfishly live in their world and make clothes that would be fun to role play with them so when I am babysitting and playing with their dolls, they have so many options on what they want to be.
It may sound silly to some, I look at it as if I am teaching them through their baby dolls that they have so many options to think about being because they have so many different kind of clothes to put on their babies. In return, when they put on the different outfits, they are indirectly teaching their babies that they can be anything they want to be.
I just found this video and wow! Very helpful! I use a stiletto to push my fabric but because I quilt, I found u can use a postage stamp size piece of fabric as a starter and one as a finisher and it works just like when I quilt to keep fabric from sucking into the feed dog. :)
Love the tips
very good suggestions, makes it sound easy! Hope I can do it.
This video is very helpful. I will be making lots of Doll clothes for my granddaughter.

Love this video so much!! Thanks so much for putting it together! Have you any tips/videos for sewing lining? I've ripped out so many seams trying to get my lining to "work" that I feel like I'm losing my mind!

Nicely done on advice.
🎵🎵🎵🎵
Thank you so much this is the best advice
I really hate those tissue patterns so I copy patterns onto regular copy paper - it holds the shape much better and so much easier to cut out. I also use pins and the copy paper doesn't rip like those tissue patterns do.
Wonderful video, thanks!!
