Giuliano Ciannella was a singer of the highest possible artistic and vocal level, I am so happy to again hear his bold and honest voice singing this. He was also a great teacher, teaching not only his superb technique but focusing even more on the artistry and the spiritual qualities of music making. Poco conosciuto rispetto alle sue possibilità artistiche e vocali, il tenore Giuliano Ciannella è stato connsiderato "l'ultimo tenore del primo verdi", ancora "il baritono con gli acuti".
Allievo di Campogalliani si perfezionò con Bergonzi e il mitico Giacomo Lauri Volpi, il quale in un suo scritto, pubblicato da Bongiovanni, "Voci parallele" lo menziona tra i giovani tenori di grandi speranze.

@ludefran sono stato suo allievo fino alla fine dei suoi giorni e posso dire che l'aver conosciuto Giuliano (così si faceva chiamare detestava i "maestro") mi ha cambiato la vita. E' vero il suo temperamento spesso ha intralciato la sua carriera soprattutto nei teatri italiani, era ostico nei confronti della discografia, tuttavia, ha fatto una grande carriera: 20 anni di Metropolitan ecc..
