    Hi! Wouldn't it be better to dig a medieval well , drop there a pump and make the same roof. So you could have two ways of getting the water by beckets and automatically how you did it. When you have a huge hole with a water where you can even swim, its easier to get a water.. The problem is that down there on the end of the pipe under the ground there are a lot of dirt and when the filter is getting dirty the water doesn't go,- it means you have to uninstall it and fix it, and no one knows how much will they charge you and will it be fixable or not. But I hope that it will work good and long. Thank you for sharing your own experience. I was just interested in the prices because I'm gonna getting married the same as you and have my own house in Philippines.

      We actually have a natural spring down at the bottom of our property that we can access by bucket or even shower with if we choose. I prefer the automatic wells as it easily provides the pressure we need to distribute the water throughout the home and property. We have had to have the leather cap replaced at the bottom of our pipes once before and we were charged P1k for replacing that piece. Outside of that, no other issues!

    Hello my friend nice little video where me and My Wife planned to buy our property. We have freshwater coming from the mountains for free but we will have to put in pressure tanks and stuff like that to give us more pressure in the house but thank you for the video good to see you guys good to see the house is coming along still good he keeps me encouraged to build myself a good house there when we are finally ready I wish you and your beautiful family a happy holidays safe healthy holidays. God bless Scott from Chicago.

      That mountain spring water is a nice thing to have brother. None available here in Central Luzon so digging a well is a necessity. Always good to hear from you and hoping your New Years is the best!

    On my farm we had what we call here a Sand Point very similar to what they are doing we pound it with a hand pounder with a sand point tip. Our well was 24ft and had great water until they sprayed our fields then we developed headaches. After that we did a drilled well with a 6-in casing and we had horrible water because we hit Granite at 42 ft so our water was so full of iron

    • @rickbaker0217
      @rickbaker0217  Před 6 měsíci +2

      No granite that I know of here brother. But at 110ft, we are getting super clean and tasty water. Hope you liked the last voice message I left you

    Hi Rick…the more I look at that beautiful blue sky there, the more I can’t wait to get back there!
    Good idea on the 2nd well for the pool and garden. And the new one sure sounds more reasonably priced. Regarding your front yard. Is there anything there resembling an in ground sprinkler system, like what we have in the states?
    Merry Christmas to you guys 🎄🎁

    • @rickbaker0217
      @rickbaker0217  Před 6 měsíci

      Thanks brother and I never get tired of those blue skies! So, no, I have never seen anyone with an inground sprinkler system. But that being said, doesn't necessarily mean it can't happen. I have a buddy over in San Jose that just installed Rainbird inground sprinkler heads at his home. Not sure where he got them, possibly Amazon, but not sure. I believe he shared with me that he has valves he turns on to operate two heads at a time. I am sure due to the pressure. So, no automatic timer or programmed stations, but a compromise between dragging a sprinkler around like we do, and having a fully automatic system.

    Good video, wish I could have my own well but to many rocks where we live. You said that your dog went to obedience school in Olongapo, can you tell me where. Seems like everything is hard to find in the Philippines. Thanks

    RIck, like you I have had to adjust to the way things are done here, and I have been at it for many decades. I am always pleasantly surprised when my expectations are exceeded. They do their best with what they can afford and most will give you an honest effort. They will work hard in a way we from the West can't fathom probably because we have the right resources and can afford the things that make the job easier. They persevere doing things with tools we would never think of using because we are so highly mechanized but they still find a way and to get it done. With the Japanese putting so much aid in the Philippines to the tune of $187Billion I see a more efficient and more prosperous Philippines in the not too distant future. The Well you had dug would cost many thousands of dollars in the US and it's my hope that you will have many years of trouble free operation.

    • @rickbaker0217
      @rickbaker0217  Před 6 měsíci

      You are absolutely correct Charles, and I couldn't have said it better myself. And yes, most likely digging a well in the US would have been cost prohibitive. I for one am grateful they can do it the old fashioned way here 👍👍

      Wishing you the best on your future build brother! The company we bought our filtration from is H2O in Cavite. I even listed it in the vlog that I did on our water filtration system. Very reasonably priced and you being in Cavite, they would probably have installation available as well. They would come up here to install, but I found a local plumber that installed it for P1k here.

      Out in the province, as they say, municipal water sources are almost non-existent, so a personal well is really our best option.

      @rickbaker0217  Před 3 měsíci

      Jenn and Genesis do hope to test for US citizenship in a couple of years. They have had their visa for a year now, so in about a year and a half, we will start that process. If they secure their citizenship, then they will petition the Philippine consulate to obtain dual citizenship status. Will make going back and forth so much easier if we can obtain that goal. Thanks for watching!

    This doesn't make sense to me. You already have a deep well. Wouldn't the solution for your needs be a larger water tank, or secondary tank, bigger water pump motor, etc. Why a completely separate well??

    • @rickbaker0217
      @rickbaker0217  Před 6 měsíci +1

      Hey Kevin, thanks for watching brother. Sorry if I confused you. There were actually several ways we could have addressed our needs, but this is just what I chose to do. I am not a fan of large water tanks so mine are small and located within our pump room. Anything larger would have had to be outside and visible, and that is just a personal preference for me. I could have dug a submersible well that is capable of moving a much larger amount of water, but I am not growing rice so I did not have a need for that large of a quantity of water. A larger hp pump was an option, but I run on solar and it was important to me to ensure my water usage happens mostly during the day when we have sun, so for us, this just seemed the best solution. Not saying it is your solution, just what I though would work best for the Baker household.

    Philippines should banned digging well! Causing erosion & emptying ground water.

    • @rickbaker0217
      @rickbaker0217  Před 6 měsíci +1

      Only erosion happening here is during the rainy season and not from our wells. I have never heard of anyone having a lack of ground water here. If they government banned the drilling of wells, I am pretty sure it would cause economic mayhem here. This entire region of Luzon survives off of race farming and rice has to have water to grow, so I don't really see that happening.
