Q: Do you do these spreads after the week is over?
A: I always film myself creating these spreads before the week has started and continue to fill it out during the week. I collect the footage at the end of the week and do my voiceover which is why everything I say is in past tense! I always prefer to plan ahead~
Q: How do you use so many planners at the same time?
A: Every week, I choose a few planners for me to use so I’m not actually using ALL of my planners every single week! For example, I always choose a planner for me to take on the go, one for academics, one for business, and one that is more decorative and fun. Part of what I do is showcasing spread ideas so that is why I have so different layouts!
    #planwithme #lightsplanneraction #plannerstickers
Q: How did you learn your lettering?
A: This is a pretty annoying answer but...practice practice practice! I didn’t use a book or a single resource to learn. I honestly just picked up on the different types of lettering through my daily life (things like book covers, posters, etc.) and practiced whenever possible!!!

My dear friend, I had my learner's permit for SEVEN years, and only got my driver's licence in my mid-30s. Of course living in Montreal, like Toronto, you don't really need to drive. But it was scary and expensive and until I got more comfortable driving I just kept putting it off. Now I don't think twice about driving, but every once in a while I have a "I can't believe I'm on the 401 driving 110km all by myself and not panicking!" moment. I feel SO grown-up. At 45. hahaha Also I don't need more stickers but I kind of need to see if I can buy that sunflower kit because it is GORGEOUS!

I’m from the southeastern US, in a very rural area where driving is pretty much the only way to get around. I got my permit at 16 and license at 26. I didn’t use my permit but twice that entire time. I was scared stiff of driving, of wrecking and just the thought of being at the wheel, even with someone else in the car with me, filled me with fear. I didn’t have any friends, no social life and until I was 18 I didn’t have a job. My anxiety was crippling and I wasn’t managing my depression, it was just running wild. I was in community college but barely passing. I didn’t really have anyone or anything except my mom. I was miserable and had no direction. My mom was the one who drove me around where I needed to go and pick me up from wherever I was. Even when i got a job and started trying to get my shit together, I was still scared to drive. That was 2011-14. Flash forward to 2017 and I applied for a job as a CSI. ultimately it didn’t work out, but one of the requirements was that i had a valid DL. if it wasn’t for that job application I never would have gotten my license or come out of my shell. It literally turned my life around. Now it’s 2021 and I’ve been driving for 4 years, I have a steady job, I am slowly learning to manage my mental health, and I have my own place. and there are moments when I still freak out when I see a car coming in the other lane 😂 and also moments when I have to hit pause because I still can’t believe how far I’ve come. everyone grows and progresses at different speeds. Just because someone else is farther along doesn’t mean you’re failing. It just means you are working towards catching up.
I love watching your videos because your voice is so quiet and calming. It’s very soothing especially late at night. You are extremely creative and I’ll admit sometimes I’m jealous 😬😂 keep up the good work and I look forward to seeing more of your videos!

You not getting your license is more normal than you think! A bunch of my friends who are from and have lived in major cities all their lives never got their license or only got it when they were forced to do so for work purposes.
For the school part - your personal preference reigns supreme of course, but if time and finances aren’t an insurmountable obstacle I’d take more classes! As someone who liked going to school, I really missed it after I graduated and was so happy when I went back for grad school haha. There’s just something so wonderful about learning for the sake of learning, and having a class facilitate that desire for knowledge is so fulfilling. Plus you might stumble upon a unique interesting course that teaches you something you’d have never thought about before. For me, I took an upper level chemistry of food seminar and a Japanese history and religion seminar that actually sent me on a subsidized trip to Japan!
Thanks for another great spread too 🥰

There’s a lot to be said for getting license at 16 - 17. Young enough to think you are invincible but old enough to understand you could kill someone. Back in the 80’s we actually got credits towards our high school degree. As an adult I wonder how they were able to pay teachers enough to get in cars with the kids!

Listen, do only what you want, but going part time / low stress while I was working on my thesis was great. It’s also a nice fade out for school. They don’t call it senior spring for nothing. That looks so differently for so many people but I thought of it as the gift I gave myself by making it through the last 3 and 1/2 years. I went to a small school and we always said that senior spring was the closest we came to state school. I gave myself the gift of no early mornings and Friday’s off and all the best things. I did other fun things that you do when you’re in college and there isn’t a pandemic.
Maybe only take electives, or use all your pass/fail options, but try to celebrate the last year of undergrad! Your planning style has been a nice source of inspiration lately!
    Happy end of summer! 🌞

Love the daisy pastel yellow and green layout. Don't worry about the driver's license. I got my mine's when I was seventeen, but didn't actually drove until 23 years of age. I was living in San Francisco at the time and I didn't need to drive due to convenient transportation. Now living in Las Vegas, I am forced to drive because the city is so big that you can't walk to a store. It's about a mile from where I live unless I live close to stores that are walking distance.

Omg I can relate so much to the driver's license thing... It's a long story but I really want to share my experience cause hopefully it can help ❤️ I got my L at 16 (the learner's you do the written test for) and then kept trying to learn to drive with my mom but I was terrified, everything seemed to happen so fast and I just couldn't get the hang of it. I kept renewing the L but never managing to go and do the road test and move to the N license.
At 23 I decided to take lessons with an instructor... BEST DECISION EVER! I would highly recommend it because you learn things your parents most likely don't know (my mom is a great driver but did not know all the tips and tricks and emergency maneuvers etc that my instructor taught me - in fact, funny story, my mom ended up taking 1 lesson with him and actually learned a lot!). After those lessons I did my road test and I actually got 99% on it I was so happy - only one mistake (which way I pointed my wheels on hill parking because the curb was not a 90 degree curb - I hesitated and chose the wrong direction oops).
TO SUM UP : don't worry about being 20 and "still" not having your driver's license, I had my L for 7 YEARS, and I HIGHLY recommend getting lessons, you learn soooo much faster than with a parent or friend and it also saves your relationships - my mom and I got in soooo many fights because of how stressful it was for me and also for her trying to teach me without a vehicle that had the brake built in for the instructor, it's much safer in case anything happens! You don't want an accident in a parent's car vs the cars for the driving school are insured etc. Plus, they teach you exactly what you need to know for passing the test as well as to be safe like defensive driving skills. So yeah, I can't say enough about how much driving lessons help!
Hope this is helpful, you got this Helen! ❤️

I didn’t get my license until way later and I don’t regret it one bit! Our brains don’t develop fully until around 23, so why not drive when we are more capable? 😜

You don't have to feel ashamed! I'm 21 and I don't have my driver's license, because I have been busy and honestly, I'm a little bit afraid of it, ngl. So don't feel bad :)

This spread is so pretty💕 Don't worry about not having a license😅 I've been slacking on getting mine as well! I've only taken the written test and it'll be a while till I take the actual test🤠 Also, I can't wait for TCMC announcements for the rest of the year!! They're the only things I can look forward to😅 Have a good week, Helen❤

What electives will you take? I was in the same position my fourth year. I had completed the requirements for Science courses so all I had were electives. So I took things like Classics (Greek mythology - loved this so much!) and History.

Soooo many fun ones on my timetable so far! Namely, I'm excited for computer programming, abstract mathematics, intermediate Spanish and English Grammar ^_^ Haha not as fun as mythology (love it too) but I'm pumped!

Eeek 47°C, I hope you were under air con, I would die if I wasn't under air con. Meanwhile here in Melbourne, Australia it's 2am & 4°C.
It doesn't when you get your licence. You get it when you're ready & it sounds like you are. Good luck w/ your knowledge test. And good luck on the roads, be safe, drive safe.

So I didn't get my full G until I was like 23 or 24 and already owned my own car lol. I swore for YEARS that I would never drive in downtown Toronto, but the last few years I have been. It's absolutely terrifying and I'd rather take the subway or walk, but it's not always an option.

  • @aliyyahj
    @aliyyahj Před 3 lety +2

I’m the same age as you and I got my g1 at 16 but didn’t start driving until almost 18. I have my g2 now but it’s expired because COVID and I still need to get on the highway so I can take my G test. There’s a grace period so I’m able to drive with my g2 expired to those of y’all who may not know. Oh I’m in Toronto too lol hence the lack of driving
