Mental institutions need to be brought back. These people don't need to be in and out of prison, they may need to be admitted to a long term psychiatric facility for their and other's own safety. Mental health is real and if untreated, can be extremely dangerous.

My Uncle was good friends with Scarver, at the time he unalived Dahmer and my Aunt lived across the hall from Dahmer, was in his apt. on several occasions and is the woman in the documentaries about him.
I visited her apt. a couple of times with my then, children.

There is something mentally damaging about not being able to provide for oneself. It seems to never really be talked about on a deeper level. It does something to you when you can't find a job. No. I am not going to commit a crime, that is just not me, but the mental anguish can be unbearable. I focus on the other beautiful aspects of life but it is indeed TOUGH.

Scarver has a point with the food. Wheat, sugar, etc ..and the foods he named have negative consequences on the human body....sane or insane.

The fact that scarver said that the food they gave him poisoning him and exacerbate his psychological symptoms (white bread and unrefined sugar) in the mid 90's is really incredible, because i got myself some psychological problems that i can handle with proper diet without meds and i arrive at the same conclusion than him after decades, foods can create mental health problems or exacerbate it (inflammation), unrefined sugar and mostly alll grains and dairy can cause that.... And now alot of MD and scientists begin to recognize it (sorry for my english)

Dahmer lived on 25th and kilborn. Although the apartments he lived in were torn down, the payphone the young kid ran to to call police, still stands across the street.

If anyone has been to prison, male or female and I'm speaking from experience. As someone like this, serial killers. Rape is anything in that area that has to do with harming a child. Or adults don't like I said. Just pere they will put them in harm's way without putting them in harm's way. And an only the people that's been to the pen would understand that

FEDERAL SYSTEM is different. I did 10 years in the federal system and yes you can bail out and if you violate stipulations set they will violate you, dead you on your bail and won't give you a second walking pass unless you give up some good information which will put you on that ankle bracelet. 2 things and two ways to get out either a nikka jumped on someone case in the inside which is called RULE 35(B) or that sit-down many have done called PROFFER SESSION where you, your lawyer, the ADA and a federal agent sit in a secret room and you squeal on everyone and everything that you did that's criminal. That's the only way and only 2 options. There's no such thing as second bail in federal law once you violate the first bail. Actually, you'll be lucky if you get bail in the federal system period.

Due to the fact no guards was around how come that wasn't heavily publicized and why was he never put in a psychiatric place also why haven't a psychiatric jail been built Just for those who need the help have problems and need evaluation more also whether people wanted to get the book published or not why not have a page for people to add they stuff is on you if you wanna read or not all these years about people with psychiatric problem s in that deep percussion why not a jail Psychiatric prison... The fact no Guard was present is sad they knew what they was up sadly system uses and so does the people Sadly.
Sounds to me Dahmer wanted this to happen, either he wanted to be punished for his crimes or maybe he couldn’t live in prison without being able to kill or torture again…

I work in corrections as a registered nurse. Initially I thought this story came out of an Alabama, Louisiana, Georgia prison as they have a poor reputation for progressiveness and sub standard prison conditions I was surprised the event took place in Wisconsin (as per Google). I am so sad that Scarver’s mental illness was not addressed. He appears to have schizophrenia. This develops in the 20’s most often. There are medications that can help. That said the medication cannot be forced upon incarcerated individuals. I feel for him. No I don’t condone his actions. I hope he gets the help he needs. I am proud of his son. I also hope father and son can develop some type of relationship. Best wishes to both.

A killer just couldn't handle being locked up with killers. Yeah. No he was trash just like the trash he killed.The guards knew what they was doing. Guards just murdered my cousin 2 days ago. He said on the phone I won't make it through the night cause the guards plan on taking me out and what do you know. Found unresponsive in his cell the next morning. A cop seen him and decided to pull him over to mess with him and he shot her. I guess she pulled her gun so he pulled his and got her first. They shot him 4 times and he lived but she didn't.
So your cousin killed a female cop on a traffic stop and you don't place the blame on him?

How people say the guards set him up....do they realize how many killers are together? Also realize typically guards don't place inmates together. I don't know exactly regarding this facility. But guards have very little say....they often know what will happen because they understand how the game works but it has to do with higher up....they only enforce what they are told....

Not all heroes wear capes 🫡 it must have been especially distressing to learn the people eaten and killed, were mainly black men. I dont know why his insanity plea didn’t stand..as long as they could prove he was having these psychological /schizophrenic like issues way before scarver killed him- they threw the book, at a mentally disturbed man. It’s ironic-they wouldn’t accept 😮 to his life, yet, his “mental health issues” were used to either excuse, or explain anything bad, or wrong about him..I don’t get how his established issue of mental health problems wasn’t good enough to help him in being charged-but yet they can still use that mental health “collar” to belittle his credibility,and his ability to tell the truth!
