Vidler's TV is a weekly product review show filmed on location at the historic Vidler's 5 & 10 in East Aurora, New York. Vidler's is one of the last surviving "five and dime" stores in America... and the largest in the world! With two levels occupying four connected 19th century buildings, you'll find everything from nostalgic candy, novelty toys and kitchen gadgets to the newest items for the recreational shopper with distinctive rooms featuring crafts, fabrics, jewelry, candles and seasonal décor. A five and dime store... and so much more!

I don't know if it's some kind of Mandela Effect, but I remember them being as big and round as actual cigarettes.
YES ... they are SMALLER then they were back in the old days. I don't think they were ever as big as a real cigarette but they were a lot closer in the old days then today's candy cigarettes are in size.
They also made Bubble Gum Cigarettes ... they were shapped like a cigarette and wrapped in paper that look like a cigarette wrapper ... those were larger, I think, and more like the size of a real cigarette (I believe although I never bought them back in the day). Modern ones of these are also smaller then they were back in the day.
But when you are a kid everything seems bigger so who knows...

Candy lipstick - cannot find it anywhere. Made in the later 50's. Bright pink candy with gold foil wrapped 3/4's up the lipstick and then wrapped with clear plastic.
+get in Unfortunately, they've discontinued the candy lipsticks. Don't know if another company will consider making them, the only place we see them now is on Ebay.
Thank you for the info. I couldn't find them on EBay, they only have the push up type. The ones I remember only had two wrappers on them and were 1c each. I ate one of my Mom's tubes of RED lipstick when I was 3 and I think that led me to the candy ones.
I'll never get to New York but if I was able to I think I would probably tap out my checking account just to have another taste of childhood. What a sweet and good memory. Thank you for this site, I think its great for those of us that once had these candies on a fairly regular basis.
I grew up with Popeye candy sticks my whole life and chocolate cigarettes too back in the 90's but the chocolate ones don't exist here any more 😞 also I have a Popeye candy stick in my mouth while typing this

I want one of those as a substitute for smoking. I like to smoke when I'm with my friends, and having a pack of candy cigarettes would allow me to share a smoking moment with them, without actually smoking.
