Someone told me that I am dark. I cried to my parents. And my papa showed me an image of devi kali and mentioned all the story of devi mahakali. I felt quite assured. Now I am 19 and face every hardles of my father's buiseness along with efficiency and boldness. After every success my father says to everyone of my family, 'bola tha na..ye mera beti hai'..That's really a heavenly feeling. Thanks to all those papa who have given their dark daughters a wing to fly over this rush of melanin.

I'm a white Brit - a VERY white Brit 😂 I have very pale skin, because I had a Scottish grandmother.
The irony is, pale skin isn't usually wanted amongst white people in the UK. Everybody wants tanned skin. My own mother (who has more of a Mediterranean skin tone) regularly complains about my paleness. She's always telling me I need to get a fake tan, and exclaiming in horror: 'look at those lily white legs!' when I wear a skirt. I often get told I look ill, etc., for not doing anything about my natural paleness.
It's a strange thing, the world over. People in many countries seek the skintone, that most of the country doesn't have. I know there are different social/historical reasons for that, depending on the particular country. But whatever the reasons, it's all very stupid.
The girl in this film is absolutely gorgeous. It's really worrying that anyone could look at her, and not see her beauty, simply because her skin is not pale. Just as I regularly tell my mother to get lost, when she complains that my paleness ISN'T a good thing (well, she shouldn't have married a very pale man then, should she, if she didn't want pale babies?! 😂)
People the world over need to accept that anyone can be beautiful - skintone has nothing to do with it.
Once a relative uncle called me and said 'Your father ,mother and sister are so fair and beautiful but why you are the only one with dusky complextion . Did they adopted you? 'and started laughing and at that time it really harm my self confidence and I actually felt bad but it doesn't affect me anymore it was his thinking that was dark

I have also suffered from this,i am an average looking giel,but when I was in class 5th or 6th I had more dark skin and short hai which actually didn't suit me.my classmates were more beautiful and they had long as compare to me,my dance teacher always reject me because of my look and didn't allow me to participate in a fancy dress competition,i wanted be a doll in that competition but she scold me and insulted me that I am not that much good to look like a doll.and she is no more between us I got this news almost 2days ago and I am not sad for her she was one of that person who makes me feel like I am not beautiful and useless

It all depends on their geographical region. People who are in extremely hot conditions tend to be dark. And all parts of the south don’t have the same weather conditions.

People from the rest of the country don’t even realize or refuse to recognize that there are four states in the south and the people speak different languages.
Part of AP is in south east. And parts of some are in south west. But we are all grouped under one umbrella of ‘South Indian’. Has always been my pet peeve.

Im a south Indian... i too were exposed to many similar situations in ma lyf... bt smthg that most hurts me was my ex husband started extra marital affairs with many fair girls just after 4 months from marriage and treated me cruely, which ended up in a divorce.

It broke me into tears.. just like memory flashback... Faced this since I was in class 3rd. Starting from teachers, friends, cousins, relatives. Everywhere I used to be judged. That's how my brain was nourished as a child which shatters my confidence till today when always used to the meritorious student. Though today I am grown and quite got what I wanted to but still can't erase what I had as a child. But for my hubby, I am the most beautiful women I feel blessed for it.
